The wife's best friend is her hair dresser and we would all end up hanging out often at Stonehaus and the Promenade over the years, and she definitely went through a really rough patch. I can't speak for the amount of skiing she may have been doing, but I can say she liked to DRINK. A LOT.
She was big into moto during and after Chris. She even asked me how the Welty's were doing when she found out they were family.
That said, the last time I saw her about a year ago she had really cleaned herself up and was looking pretty damn good.
Small world we live in… I ran into them after they got back together and she was still looking good. We were filming in T.O. near her house, they seemed to be really happy at the time, but she started going off the rails (literally) shortly after. Thats when she got all crazy on Chris and she got arrested at her house for spousal abuse. She ended up punching the cop and kicked the fireman that came out to assist the call.
I ran into Cameron probably 10 years ago riding at Gorman, I hadn’t seen him in at least 15 years. He was getting back into riding at the time. I didn’t even recognize him, he was twice as big as he was when he was racing… He didn’t seem too excited about their relationship.
I didn’t know you were related to the Welty’s, I still talk to Troy a bit, he use to come down to LACR once in awhile, until they closed down. I tried to hook up with him in Havasu last year, but just missed him. Dave lives up the street from my sister's house. We filmed at his neighbor's house and he came out and we were able to catch up. I went to high school and raced a lot with Dave, he’s a good dude. Troy’s old girlfriend Heather was the model that posed in VW trends with my ‘63 bug, she use to make a lot of money winning bikini and wet t-shirt contests. Her tits were bigger than her head. lol She ended up a crackhead, my friend married her sister.
Kathy was a wild one back in the day, she definitely made her rounds with the moto guys, I haven’t seen her in 40 years. That family was core moto back then, they were all-in. Blast from the past.
Very small world indeed. I'm sure we have met at one time or another during the sand canyon days. I haven't seen either Troy or David in a while. Once Bud and Bobby passed away it all kind of fell apart. The last time I saw Troy was at LACR a handful of years ago. I remember Heather well, she was at the Lancaster house often. Sad she went off the rails...

Shit.. yes Vicky, not sure how I got that wrong. She was a wild one and definitely wasn’t shy. I think she and Sondra were in a competition for sleeping with the local pros. I’m sure we’ve crossed paths, I started racing the mini track in 1978, but moved over to the International and Shadow Glen tracks by ‘79. Spent nearly every weekend there for a few years. We were fortunate to grow up in that era for sure.
I have no idea why Chris would get back together with her after all those years knowing how she was. But he said she was his first love. They were crazy in love in 82-83 when they dated. I talk to Dave every once in a while, he’s crazy but he has some bad ass RM 2 strokes.
Troy has the RM 250’s, I don’t think Dave has any bikes left.
