Have any of you ever ended up a fan of a sport that you stumbled upon because it happened to be on? I have not. I do not believe this is a thing that happens. I'm not sure it happened 40 years ago when you had 3 networks to choose from, but I can't imagine it happens now when networks are dying and everything is on demand streaming. NBC needed to fill some air time, thats all this is about.

I would argue those events prove my point. People watched because they turned those events into spectacles and promoted the hell out of them, but as much as people think curling is cool when it's fed to them, they don't start following the sport and watching other events. Millions of viewers and social media posts and very few people retained as fans once that one event is over.

There aren't any other curling events to watch.

Supercross, there's another race the next weekend.

I feel sad for people sitting around on the weekends, flipping through TV (or their phone) searching for something of interest, but I think they exist.

Arm670 Bet you anything that guy lives in CA and is a Monster bro.  He'd die if he got out here in the middle of the country with real people who actually work.

Got into Nashville last night and staying a few blocks from the stadium. Went out on the town last night, tooled around all day and am out again tonight. This is the first time I’ve come early and spent much time here and my main takeaway is that this town is LOUD AS FUCK.

Looking forward to hitting press day tomorrow, where any hearing damage is from the soothing sound of 4-strokes on the rev limiter, not whiny hillbilly music at ridiculous volume levels.

Yeah never really drank monster even when they were shipping me a dozen cases a month. Absolutely don’t live in Cali. Good try though.

Many probably in restaurants and boring waiting rooms..

Half a million more TVs will be showing an epic title battle between legends of our sport!

I hope the random people that see it.  Enjoy the show!

Right up against the Masters.

That's some tough competition.

I love them. I'm in Europe so I don't have to get up at 2am. In person, not so much

They did it, they grew the sport!

Ironically, Nashville has some pretty strict noise laws after 10 p.m. everywhere outside of Broadway. I’m guessing the real reason is that they can’t get the necessary permits to start later, and 2 p.m. is the latest start time they’re comfortable with, given that it’s an open-air stadium and they need buffers for inclement weather.

I believe I read or heard that it starts at 7pm.  I’m shocked they’re having it on broadway. It will be an absolute shit show down there. Good chance we make the event though. We drive down this afternoon, staying with the step daughter and her fella.  Their place is close to broadway.

I’m also looking forward to the beautiful weather we will have during a the race, just can’t stay out too late, since it’s a daytime race.

I don’t know why everyone hates on day races. Just means some good day drinkin is going on and the party gets going after the race. Perfect combo for Nashville.

If you ride on sundays, again it is perfect.

I'll bet. He's a pretty fun watch most of the time.

Hatton rarely disappoints too.

The holeshot challenge should be entertaining. I picture MC and Reed splashing through puddles of piss and vomit before crashing into a 250lb bachelorette in a Ole Red T-Shirt that got separated from her double decker party bus.
