Dude 44 Bravo.
From what I was told, Team America showed up for that game. The volume of ordnance that showed up was very, very impressive.
It was indeed.
So people on social media are complaining about the huge costs to save one Airmen.
I'm having a hard time believing some of the news nowadays. The pieces don't fit.
When I heard there was a full bird in the back seat of that F-15...I'm not saying it's impossible but it ain't normal.
He was down for 24 hours but they picked him up 110 miles from the crash sight. Dude has legs.
Other reports are saying this was a raid on an nuclear storage site that went wrong.
I guess we'll know or we won't.

You must be following a different crowd than I am, none of my contacts have complained about the money spent. Only thing I have seen is relief that both were able to be returned alive. Anyone complaining about the cost and saying that their lives weren't worth it are probably bots or people who simply want to agitate for agitation sake. That would still be such a microscopic amount of people that treating their complaints even remotely serious isn't worth a moment's effort.
There’s a new F15 roll based on the EX variant…which is typical “Boeing delayed”…but, the mission is being fulfilled in the current Strike Eagle…and the very few EXs that are “sorta” available as they…when they…if they…come on-line…in an actual operational unit.
“Command and Control” from within the battle space for better real time management.
That’s how you end up with an 0-6 in the back seat of that Eagle.
The F15EX was built with the idea…the tech…to fulfill this new roll.
I was “up to date” on the EX program for a while as I had an AF Noob I’d sponsored thru his flt school, grad & 1st assign (he chose FAIP over fighters for the opportunity to be “fighter select” upon fulfilling his FAIP assignment). He was in-line to go to Test and likely the EX program…he decided to go into fighters: he’s going to the Lightning. He’s likely gonna get to be an instructor…again…but, in the 35 after he goes thru all the necessary requirements. He’s stoked. He’s really living his best life…and, get this…his girl is…literally…a hottie rocket scientist 🤣
Imagine if one could roll into a new role…..!

The O6s don’t fly often, but they still fly. Not that unusual. From what I’ve seen that was a regular F-15E. Not sure any unit other than the Oregon ANG even has the EX (other than test units). Cool jets for sure.
Maybe they thought it was safer than it was, and he wanted to go for a little ride.
For those that don't know FAIP is a First Assignment Instructor Pilot. When a "hot stick" graduates Undergraduate Pilot Training and there are no open seats available in his fighter of choice, thay are sometimes allowed to stay at a training base as instructors until a cockpit opens up.
It's a decent box to tick career wise.
Man, anything is possible. I've seen shit that you'd swear I was lying. I don't discount much these days.
Honestly, the only time the Birds I've known have flown was when they needed the hours for flight pay, they had a required check ride, they went with the squadron on an exercise, or they got a wild hair.🙃
Our (Navy) Airwing commander and Deputy Commander were the only O6s in the Airwing and they flew fairly often. Typically they were very good aviators. Not always as current on tactics, but very sound decision makers. Certainly very experienced.
I assume this guy was their Deputy Wing Commander. Certainly enough missions to fit him into the rotation on occasion.
It’s funny, I think there’s more EXs at Edward’s than there are with any other squadron. 🤣
He was looking at a Viper slot; but, early on had offered to FAIP due to the AFs dire need for them (it had been suggested to him that this would be a wise move😉)…he had done very well in training, himself, and after that they hinted it might be where they need him. He’s finishing up 3 very fun years of being an instructor and headed to the Lightning. He’s got A LOT of hours and has made rank quickly. He’s enjoying his career.
Those IP's can rack up some serious hours. Multiple sorties a day.
