"Let the kid work with Roger and he will be great... YOu got it"
"The consensus says Roger will make meek alesee a great racer"
Point A:
NO F'ing SHT!
You idiot!!
He has done NOTHING under your "mentorship"
You are the root of all his problems.
I would go out on a 'limb" and assume that Roger has a weee bit more experience at winning than some disgruntled mini dad.
Point B:
All ass e sucks at SX and will never perform in that venue
Point C:
The only reason he is under the tent of KTM is that Roger D inherited the little bitch (see cycle news interview with the man to confirm his impression of the little bitch)
Next year Mike and Tony will be enjoying their own perfect world alone in a mini van at the back of the pits blaming their lack of performance on how the factory fworld didn't understand them, their program, and if they only listened to them little B would be the greatest motorcycle rider ever.

Tony is a tool.
I never particularly cared for #800, after seeing that episode on tv, I am a fan, the kid works hard and has a father that is never satisfied.
Good luck #800
BMan-
The KTM 350 may not be ready to be competitive on an SX track. Roger spent years working with Suzuki to get that bike right and for the past several years people have said it's the best on the track. I'd guess his efforts will result in a better bike for KTM as well, but, that's not going to happen overnight. Maybe not ever.
Imagine for a moment Tom Brady's father refusing to go watch his son play because Bill Belichik expects to be the coach, call the plays, etc. That's what Tony is doing.
It says a lot about Tony that his ego gets in the way of just going to the races and being supportive of his sons (plural). Just giving them unconditional support instead of telling them how horrible they are, how they suck, etc. I know TV can portray things different than reality, but after hearing Tony himself so many times, I actually think that the TGO episode that made him look so bad was probably BETTER than reality is, not worse.
Of course, this is a guy who basically made his children his meal ticket when they were pre-teens.
He stated he made them his ticket when they were in the womb!
Tony has had so much control over mike, he won't surrender that control without a fight. He will use shame, false guilt, fear, anger etc to get what he wants. At this stage, the problem is Mike, not Tony. Only Mike can stop it. He should call Dr. Laura - she would try to shock Mike into severing emotional ties with dad.
That doesn't mean you walk away from love and affection, it does mean that you SEVER any ties that require you to depend on that person emotionally. You stop letting them control you.
I agree it's pretty easy to just type up your suggestions on how this family should operate, but just to drop in a small dose of reality, here are a few actual facts you should consider before you type on....
RdC is who he is, you get no arguement from me there. But he does not own any practice facilities, nor does he own any exercise facilities, nor does he run any type of "programs" for the team riders. He manages the racing team, and from what I hear, is really crafty at fabricating parts that make his bikes go faster.
So when 800/801 are travellng from oneside of the country to the other to make the next race, where do you think they practice and train during the week? At the Alessi owned facilities, which are located in several locations accross the country, not at antfacilities owned/operated by RdC. Who runs those facilities? That would be Alessi Racing (i.e. Tony)
Who do you think makes sure their practice bikes are at the next facility and ready for them to use, that would be Tony again. Who makes sure the practice tracks are prepped and safe for practice, that would be Tony agan. Who is responsible for managing the employees that maintain the race shop and practice facilities, you guessed it, Tony. (and by the way, because the Alessi's have such great facilities and don't charge for other pro's to use them, they are used by several of the top 20 riders year round).
Who makes sure the motorhome is at the right location to support the Alessi's (correct foods for diet, etc) for the 17 SX races? Yep, Tony again.
To say Tony needs to step back so Mike can take some next steps with RdC is really something that is between family and profession, by all means, critize away. But don't discount all that Tony does for both Mike amd Jeff. It's hard stressful work and it's part of the bond that keeps this family together. That's how they roll.
There are so many presumptions in this thread.
They only people that know the relationship between Tony and Mike is Tony and Mike.
About tony not turning up to races maybe that was RD idea we dont know.
