Just read in today's AZ newspaper that two female teacher's at the same school are under investigation for banging students, except in this case it was the SAME student!! 

Then his HS GF starting getting shit from the 2 teachers, because he was banging his GF and 2 teachers. And the teachers didn't know about each other. One was already fired, the other is pending investigation. 

Not to downplay adults and minors having sexual relationships (especially when it is teacher/student) but this guy must have some serious game to be juggling 2 teachers and a GF at the same time. One of the teachers was paying him hundreds of dollars in cash and gifts. And it sounds like numerous students and teachers (and the guys parents) knew about the "rumors" of him and the teachers. 

I went to the wrong high school, or maybe not it was just that I was a skinny 150 pound MX nerd so I had no game. 

Hearing All these stories nowadays “where were these teachers when I was in school?!!!” 🤣 

If it was me obviously yes I would have loved it. But that doesn’t mean it’s ok on the teachers end. They definitely should be charged. A 30 something year old teacher seducing and sleeping with teenagers is NOT ok.

Sounds like an 80s movie script. Awesome except the teachers might go to jail. I don’t agree with that bullshit

She was a middle school teacher. If it was a middle school student, she’s a sick, twisted person and it’s obviously a sexual assault. 

A lot of the logic here seems to come down to whether you can imagine yourself wanting it.

Change the scenario slightly, a15-year-old gay boy, ‘hot’ male teacher, does it still sound like he’d be ‘lucky’?

And if not, why?

Because the power imbalance didn’t change. The age didn’t change. The only thing that changed is a subjective perspective.

We already agree it’s wrong to exploit teenage girls, who are often more emotionally mature so explaining why it’s suddenly okay to exploit someone less mature should be interesting.

I'm not sure anyone is arguing that it's right or should be tolerated, but there's clearly something different about it. From the perspective of policy it should absolutely be treated the same. Cannot be tolerated. 

But it does seem different and I think it's OK to admit it. 

I don't think you'll find too many 15 or 16 year old girls fondly recalling their time with the teacher decades later as we have here. 

I suspect the difference is mostly because of what all parties are seeking out of the encounters. I doubt too many of the female students are just trying to get laid. Despite their emotional maturity relative to males their age, they're usually far more invested emotionally in the relationships. They've bought the lies about living happily ever after with the person. They've compromised their bodies in hopes of gaining the relationship. It's coercive, manipulative, takes time. That's where much of the trauma comes from. The male student isn't looking for the mother of his children, he's looking for the bodily pleasure to begin with. It's transactional. So the difference you're looking for, put simply, is did the student get what they wanted or get conned at great personal cost? Surely you recognize that on average men have a much greater capacity for detached and meaningless sex, right? That doesn't just start when they turn 18.

Obviously this is speaking in broad generalities and the opposite scenarios can and do play out, but they would be exceptions to the rule. 

I also don't think your assessment of the power imbalance is accurate. Emotional maturity isn't the same thing as power. Male teacher over female student is far more imbalanced than young female teacher over 16 year old physically developed male. There's more to the power imbalance than just the age and title. 

The bigger issue to me is what the hell is wrong with these women to begin with that they fall for the flirting of a teenager? 

This is a funny as in strange thing to think about.  If it was me as a teenager I would think it was a cool story. But then I think about if I had a  kid, take their gender and the teachers out of it and just assume that whatever combination there was would add up to a sexual attraction that could be mutual between the 2. I would worry that the teacher took advantage of my kid.  Its so strange to think about it from the different perspectives. 

As a teenager I was homeschooled but had teachers come to my house to help me.  I had one youngish heavier blond that I may now think of as more attractive than I did as a teenager. It was a warm spring day and she was wearing a skirt. Well she was afraid of cats and I had a kitten that was very friendly and curious. One day she was sitting at the table and the cat was running around and then went up her skirt......

 She asked me to get the cat for her , hesitantly with a slight giggle to her voice. So I went up and grabbed the kitten and he decided to grab on to her underwear. As I pulled him away I heard a slapping sound as her underwear slipped out of the cats claws and snapped back against her. She had a nervous giggle and bright red face as I pet the cat and brought him into another section of the house that I could close him into. 

 Not the best story ever, but I think it is funny to think back on. I was around 15ish. Not sure my exact age, I graduated at 16 and it wasn't my last year. So 14 or 15 was how old I was. And she may have been in her late 20's early 30's. At the time she seemed so old to me. 

I think of all the education that I've missed 
But then my homework was never quite like this
