Word from the Motoconcepts team managed by David Vuillemin in the USA is that French 2/stroke specialist Cedric Soubeyras will race a number of Supercross rounds possibly Phoenix through to San Diego.

Is cedric riding lites or open as he is evidently on a 250 2stroke

Open class. Australia is the only place I know of where the rules are fair and 250 2T's race against 250's 4T's at the top level

The bike looks great, hat's off to Mr. Vuillemin and his son David on their program.

I was wondering tho.......

Has this guy ever ridden here?
What kind of SX experience does he have over there?
How does he stack against the current 3 Euros that are here for their first time?

He's ridden the lites class in the past, I believe it was in 09 (not sure of the year). He did mostly top 15's and a few top 10's if I remember correctly.

He's done most of the main SX races in Europe, and also the French SX series. The tracks are smaller in Europe, though.

I think we shouldn't expect too much. He's a good rider but evidently if he was that good of a rider he would have a SX or GP ride already... so with a stacked field in 450 his aim is to qualify in the final and not running at the front with the top guys. Top 10 would be incredible!!

I agree. DV12 even said the goal is to get into the main and I think that would be a victory in itself. Its a 250 against open bikes.

Not only has he done them, he's won most of them.

I think we've heard something about this.

I'm pretty sure if you search the forum, you'll find a thread on the idea of doing it, a thread on the bike build, and a thread on the graphics he's running.

If you check into the Scratch 'n Sniff forum, you can smell a sample of the exhaust.

Top 15 would be great.

I honestly think it's possible...

Phoenix is probably the closest thing to a sand track on the circuit. Does that favor or hurt the smoker? Hard to say.

If they have any deep sand sections it might help him stay on top and not push like the thumper .... but then light sand sections could simply make for difficult traction and hook-up ... especially with that explosive engine they've put together. Some sort of traction control device would be handy.

Someone is going to have to get some good vid - or just audio - clips of him and post them up. Smile

Hopefully, he'll make the mains. That's all that really matters IMO. That will be a huge success IMO.

When CEDRIC lappeth the field on their flimsy four-bangers, we'll be changing

his last name to " SOBADASS" ....

Just sayin'....

Do you like the idea that he's trying to do this, or not??? It's difficult to tell.

No one has suggested that he'll lap the field or anything like that. It cheapens the whole effort and all the enthusiastic people who are happy that it's finally happening by flippantly suggesting that people think he's going to lap the field. We don't and we're just hoping for one spark against the starless night, to tell you the truth. All the endless mudbuggy 4 stroke racing has just gotten real boring that's all...

If we want to see 250 2 strokes lap every 4 stroke in the field, we don't have to look very far. Chad Reed and RC did it in San Diego 05. K Dub was the top finishing Fooper Trooper and he got lapped by both of them, and it wasn't because of a fall or any other such mishap.

One thing is for sure: MotoConcepts is going to get great exposure for their brand, even if he doesn't make the main. I know I'll be watching and cheering for him. Smart marketing.
