The Mugen, Marty Tripes' RC250 (or was it a 500?), Kent Howerton's SR500, Newmann definitely had some cool bikes in his collection. I never had any interactions with him other than here on the public facing side of the board, but his contributions are definitely missed.
guyb, in the end he was just a dick. I got banned same day as Joe. This place is much better, thanks ML. I miss Joe
I miss Newman.
Zero prosecutions for that fiasco that took so many. Zero.Justice will come.

Some real solid dudes who were members here have passed and I'm thinking that maybe ML can add a Vital Wall of Remembrance, a place for us to commemorate, and preserve the memory of guys like Newmann, Scotty and some others.
Loved his posts whether it be about bikes, cars, food, booze, and everything else.
I randomly Photoshopped this for him just for fun (I did 3 but this is the easiest to find).
EDIT: Would love to know if the RX-7 is still part of the family.😌
Those lowers are really cool. Especially the bottom pic.🔥
.......... wow
Like Don Henley sung "we get the government we deserve"
Non moto Joe was my favorite. He came off as being into everything example bench vises. He also seemed like he could do anything. I remember it seemed like a rough stretch leading up to that time. Always seemed like for a moment there was some floods he and family were recovering from.
It was a dark stretch for Vital with him and OC passing.
I didn’t know Joe on as much of a personal level as most of you guys did, but that man is who kickstarted my love and passion for building a bad ass garage. Always enjoyed seeing and reading his posts about his garage projects.
But do you collect and restore old vises? Yes, Newmann was a treasure to the board!
Thanks for bringing up some old memories.
TM
Glad to see the response to this thread.
Good man. Never forgotten.
What ever happened to Joe Newmann's RC400 works bike that he had?
Believe that bike is still in the family.
I'm on my 3rd username here. GuyB didn't suffer Texans well.😂 My favorite way to poke Joe was to call him "pink mist". IYKYK.
Joe was a friend of mine. We met when I started racing the EVO Sports series in Texas back in 2002. Later he moved up to that 81 YZ250 and became my competitor.
Joe was generous to a fault. There's no telling how much he spent at the Garrett Berg Memorial race auctions that we had for a fallen rider. He was always helping someone.
It was a huge loss to the sport when we lost Joe, but mostly I just miss my friend.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, glad to see his memory is still going strong. Those stickers made many connections that I still keep in touch with.
As for the RC 500 it just went to a new home someone who will appreciate it just as much as Joe did.
The YZ project he started was completed minus a front brake issue was going to make a post but life got in the way.
The RX7 is still broke down.
The business is still going strong and we still take on the odd ball motorcycle part for Newmann quality restoration!
Maybe not, my business partner was in good health and younger than me. He died with COVID. It did happen and government did a terrible job. The lying and manipulation was pure evil. Never, ever take a COVID test! Nothing good will come of it. You really should have kept your mouth shut.
