This is going to be a wild race to watch, drivers still figuring things out and teams have a whole new ballgame of strategy to develop and deploy.
There will be so many DNFs for car issues, way too many cutting out and stopping while on the track, going to be entertaining that's for sure, 3rd practice starting now
Antonelli just absolutely destroyed that car 😳
Problems for Max in qualifying. I read he pushed down on the brake and the rear axle locked up sending him off track. I supposed the good news is that his teammate qualified 3rd, so the car has some pace.
I wonder how many will finish the race tonight.

Anyone notice the ridiculous differences in lap times? After Q3 the shot of Toto and the rest of the Mercedes group around him was hilarious!!! They looked embarrassed as to how bad they humiliated the rest of the teams. Yep, George's to lose. Everyone will get this figured out ... right?
Pole position 2 seconds slower than last year, breakdowns galore, only able to watch if I get AppleTV. Yeah I'm sitting this season out. Just planning on reading the results after the fact.
I will be sitting in the EZ chair watching the F1 fiasco tonight and enjoying every minute of it. I just hope Ferrari is in the mix.
I'm watching the Pre-race show on the F1TV app on my TV, laptop & phone. Might be the end of my last F1TV subscription. I haven't signed up for Apple TV.
This pre race show is unwatchable
It would be interesting to see the year over year US viewer numbers.
@rhargrave431 why is it unwatchable?
So far so good. First ten laps were incredible. Settled down a bit now. Ferrari still ferrari 😝
Yea I dunno about these new cars. I wasn’t following in the v8 era but these new cars sound awful. And the battery deployments and racing feels very contrived/manufactured.
Just watched the f1 and supercars highlights ... yeah ... at least supercar make the right sound. F1 with this new car/drivetrain pkg, in my opinion has jumped the shark. Not sure they're going to fix this.
It was such a boring race I fell asleep watching it.
I did too, but it had nothing to do with it starting at 9pm 😆
I’m kinda surprised that only 5 cars fell out of the running (23%).
When you look at the results, so far, and the way things look like they’re going…we have to ask…
“What did the ‘massive’ rule/car change accomplish?”
As for those saying they sound terrible…I’m in absolute agreement & I have the fix: V8-V10 and scrap the hybrid bs. This is RACING. This is supposed to the highest level of auto racing on Earth.
I’m jus’ sayin’…
There were rumors they were scrapping this new 50/50 power plant with the return of the v8. But it did not come to fruition
It does look like overtaking is easier (quicker) then with DRS that often required a long stretch and a good bit of time to develop. But it seems more manufactured to me the pure racing.
Ferrari strategists making bolognaise and pizza every time a safety car comes out 😂
Pit Row
What a shit show from F1 and the principle behind it all. From the fuel, to the engines it is a joke and the drivers clearly resonate with that sentiment.
Engines that use a rocket booster button with the electric that gives upwards of 50% more power is just ignorant. They have to drive an F1 car like a 125 to charge the battery.
From the race itself, it did show varying styles of driving and that along with strategy with change over the calendar year
"... AND HE GETS THE PASS DONE OUT OF THE CORNER !!! ... AND HE CHARGES FORWAR ... oooooh ... wait ... maybe not ..."
Watching the cars visibly slow towards the end of a straight because the battery drained is just the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my 60years of watching racing.
Racing has a new style ... and it absolutely sucks!!!
I did not enjoy watching a F1 race where “harvesting energy” was an applicable term for driver tactics. A few years ago I tried to watch a season of FE with an open mind. I never could get past the sound of sewing machines traversing a track accompanied by the rattling noises of carbon fiber, titanium and other high tech materials as the cars passed over bumps in the tracks.
Ferrari finished 3rd and 4th and lead lots of laps before their pit wall dropped the ball AGAIN, but I am still happy that they are in a better position then most of he other teams. 😎
More “harvesting energy” strategy in the Sprint race today. It’s unwatchable for me. End of F1. Now it’s F1E.

Is the apple feed inconsistent for others as well? It skips a decent amount and sometimes the announcers sound like there are speaking through a lo-fi voice generator.
My feed was fine, but I have apple tv and they are wanting to charge me an extra $12 per month for F1. I like it, but not that much
I have Apple TV bundled with peacock it’s only 14.99 a month for both fyi.
I’m I seeing correctly that the only way to watch F1 this year is Apple TV?
Yep and I'm not a fan of their pre show with the 3 they have, they all sound and look awkward and Ruth would be more suited to radio than being on camera. ESPN did a way better job but they may also improve as they get farther into the season.
Are they not using SKY ? I'm just seeing the "highlights" (coughcough) so I don't know who's the broadcast team. Would be a shame not having Martin's condescending voice up against Ted's screaming about an overtake for 18th.
That's what I'd wanted to do, but they say you can't do the bundle until your Peacock annual subscription expires. Mine doesn't for 6 months
