I’m super hopeful for this game. I’m pretty sure the aim is cold hard sim — physics kinks aside, I’m looking forward to an ultra realistic style game.

Mx bikes feels like the closest thing to real life, especially if you play it that way instead of trying to go Mach 10.

What I really hope for is true ruts. If there’s anyway they can figure out how to get terrain to fold over on itself then this game will be #1 for life (for me)

This game does look to be aimed for more realistic than the others. I play mx bikes in 3rd person because I have always been a 3rd person player and It looks more realistic while slowing it down some. Everyone I see playing 1st person on bikes is not realistic what so ever going mach 10 everywhere which takes away the simulator feel to it in my opinion.

the stock tracks that come with Sim are awful and basic. The track in the video above is meh. It will be what the community can create with highly technical sx tracks, ruts in corners, etc that might truly set the game apart.

As it stands right now, MTG wont have modsupport and no ingame track editor; there wont be any tracks created by the community.

There will be no “community created” mods for MTG.

I already asked this. Everything will be “paid for” mods made by the game developers.

I don't know if or when u played MXB the last time but MTG looks nothing like it except for the FoV settings maybe. The way the bike reacts to throttle, turning and landing looks completely different. MX Bikes is a simcade game and heavily based on momentum (also sucks on slow physics).

I agree but I hope not. MXB was a step backwards from MXSim as far as riding physics goes but most of this team are MXB fanboys so it kind of makes sense.

This is what it looks like when you actually focus on the physics first. This is just one guy slowly working on his own game and he's made more progress on his riding physics than this entire team. They're either completely lost or seriously need to reconsider their priorities. Reading game updates that revolve around them taking time off or vacations is annoying when the game doesn't seem to be addressing any of the issues people have with it. Nobody cares that you can click the 'rain' default in Unreal engine.

Thank you. I’ll probably get a lot of downvotes for this, but whatever:

Who cares about 3D-scanned tracks, partnerships, waving flag animations, being able to walk around in multiplayer, or dirt and mud on the riders face and clothes, etc? (Those are just some of the monthly updates they’ve been posting on the Kickstarter.) None of that matters if the physics are off. Considering the game was supposed to be released months ago, until they realized they couldn’t meet their own deadline, this gameplay trailer isn’t very promising in my opinion. The bike physics clearly still need a lot of work, and that should be the number one priority, like you said @aeffertz.

What also really bothers me is this:
- They heavily promote MTG inside MX Bikes, which is kind of a bitch move. Promoting a game inside a direct competitor..damn
- Monthly payment subscribtions
- No Mod Support at all (also not planned)
- The CEO has straight up insulted anyone who criticized MTG, instead of taking that as feedback. To be fair, it seems like he has toned it down recently, but it still left a bad impression.
- They originally promised a Q4 2025 release date, but later admitted they won’t be able to meet that deadline. That part is understandable, if they need more time to make the game better, that’s fine.

What’s crazy tho is their explanation: “We were just a group of gamers when we made the roadmap.” (quoting reaperdoc)

That basically means they had no clue at all when the game would actually be finished when they launched the Kickstarter and started raising money. And if that’s the case, then it’s hard not to question the other claims they made at the time, like calling it “hyper-realistic” motocross simulator.  If they were “just a group of gamers” when they went public, how much of what they promised was actually grounded in a solid plan?

I do wonder where their funding is coming from to pay for it… pre orders? A studio? A rich uncle? Are they all part owners working for the dream?

Is this coming out before GTA 6? Don’t really play video games but maybe 10 times a year. But I’ll buy this and check it out and hope for the best.

Doubt it's coming out this year, I'd be very surprised.

I don't think promoting MTG inside MX Bikes is bad at all. I know you know it, but a lot of people don't, so I'll clarify. The same people that work on MTG are also the reason MX Bikes is where it is now. OEM Bike pack, ARL Outdoor, Supercross and MXGP tracks (and specially the championships) and more is made by the MTG team pretty much. The base game without all those things is NOT a great game and wouldn't be played by most people, so I don't mind it at all if they promote the shit out of MTG inside MX Bikes.

Monthly subscriptions is something that finds itself in pretty much every Esports and it's also only required if someone wants to play competitive. The default multiplayer will be free, they at least stated that a couple times.
And constantly providing multiplayer servers, championships, stats, an anti cheat and more things is some insane amount of work/effort. They should not extra charge for track packs though for example if people pay a monthly fee to play competitive, that's for sure.
The few Esport games that work without a monthly subscription get their money mainly from other things like skins/cosmetics.

No Mod support is definitely something that will be missed I think compared to MXB where you got unlimited free tracks/gear. They gotta nail everything else so people don't miss that kind of stuff. I hope it will be a thing in the future though.

Yeah the promised release date was for sure a flop. It's hard to say "they should have known better". I think a big part of putting out an release date was also the gather in people for the kickstarter to get the ball rolling.
We are now probably looking at a release date a year after that (or even later) though and some people that paid big money for it will probably be pissed, which is understandable, on the other hand they force nobody to pay anything before the game releases, it's all optional.

One more thing, something that people shouldn't forget. This is not planned as a "release and forget game" like the yearly Monster energy SX or MXGP games. This game is intended to stay for a long time with constant updates. I see a lot of comments from people regarding their expectations for the release. No matter how the game is on release, they will work on it after that. Not everything has to be perfect. The most important thing for me is the physics being at a great starting point when the game comes out. Everything else is secondary imo.

find it ridiculous that they took everyone’s money, promised the game would be delivered in 25, and now they put out a monthly update with updates no one cares about, like waving flag animations and players being able to walk around. They need to get the physics right and fix other issues they missed the first deadline on. There isn’t even an expected timeframe for the game to come out now, after taking over $100,000 from the public. If I were a betting man, I would say this game never even comes out at this point.

I kind of grumbled when the last update started with something to the effect of "After a long holiday break, we're back!" - like, if you're already crazy late with this project, start the update with "We've been working round the clock..."(even if you're not).

That said, the team behind this are OG in the gaming community and I doubt they'd blow their reputations on a shutdown. Visually, I have no doubt the game will look amazing...as is always the case, it'll come down to physics.

Hell, I'm on almost year 15? playing MXSim. Tried Bikes, but wasn't my cup of tea.
