Literally let Kitchen pass him, and instead of settling for a safe second, proceeded to toy with him the whole main event and pass him with a few laps to go. Brilliant.

To really be a great racer he’s gotta learn to respond without just trying to take the other racer out. Every time he’s passed you can tell he gets flustered and knocked off rhythm
Deegan riding good. Kitchen was the biggest improvement of the race. Came from 6th to first to second. I believe kitchen if he stays like this can give Deegan a run. Kitchen had some excellent lines. It was Difficult rutted track. They were both good, and it was excellent race.
I was getting 2025 SMX Finals flashbacks watching that race…

I was at the race. It was epic imo. The loudest cheering for both riders I’ve ever heard. It was really fun to see that live. Both guys rode clean and there was mutual respect from both riders after the race …. Little chat and fist bump. Danger Boy has a lot of fans in the NW…. I saw Deegan hats, shirts and hoodies being worn everywhere.
I think Deegans championship lead being so large he let Kitchen by and wanted to learn Kitchens lines. If he could catch him then good but if not then no big deal.
1-1-1-1-1 he is clearly is the ultimate racer in 250. Thing is that he is going to be way faster on a 450. He is going to be tough to beat at Fox raceway out at Pala.
Deegans way of racing riders that challenge him will never work in the 450 class. Because he will do it while fighting Hunter, or Ando in p3 and the moment he does it the leaders pull 5 seconds in two or three laps.
The only way this works is if the battle is for p1 and nobody else is close. He will never have that opportunity in the 450 class against the elite riders.
two riders battling, swapping, racing fast as shit..both giving props, high fives, and hand shakes talking after the race how it was the most fun they've had and the best race of their careers. Vital nerds "Omg no need to race like that, this wont work on big bikes, no class, doesnt learn🙄". Same thing with shimoda after smx final, "yah i expected it, Im not mad"...vital "deegan is literally satan"
