Rejecting Trump is not a right or left issue. There is nothing about the guy that's classically "right" he is just to the right of the other party that has gone wildly left. In practice he's done almost nothing that would be considered in line with conservative values of 20 years ago. What you're seeing is conservatives waking up to this reality. They aren't going left, they're just lost since the party that used to represent the right has been totally captured by Trump and his disciples.
Yeah I thought about that too and you’re probably right. I think most people are pretty close to the middle but lean one way or another.
"In practice he's done almost nothing that would be considered in line with conservative values of 20 years ago."
How so? Limited government? Can you name another President that "shrank" the government? Fought for rule of law? Promoted traditional values? What is he doing that's not conservative?
Rush Limbaugh used to say "always vote for the most conservative option."
Limited government, reducing debt, and social issues like abortion and family values were the entire party platform when Bush ran, and Trump has removed all of these things from the party platform. Doesn't even pretend to care about them anymore.
And Bill Clinton would be the last president to shrink the government. Reduced federal workforce, deficit, spending as % of GDP..... also passed crime bill and saw violent crime decrease a ton during his presidency.... passed bipartisan welfare reform..... didn't get us into any wars.... maybe he should run for a third term.

You mean like being called a white supremacist, nazi, homophobe, cracker, mayonnaise, etc.?
It’s probably because Trump and the republicans have now shown themselves to be everything but conservative. Under their leadership we’ve gotten more bloated spending bills, more foreign “aid”, expansion of government oversight, increased debt, and very little if any meaningful cuts to government spending. Clearly there isn’t a truly conservative option in the two party system, and a lot of us who voted for those things but got the exact opposite have had about enough at this point. I’d be shocked if I ever vote for either party again, or even bother voting at all, you get the same outcome no matter who’s in charge.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a mention about the UFC being held at The White House this year.
I only quoted you because of the Idiocracy pic... And I enjoy watching combat sports including UFC.
EDIT: They've been advertising the new 'The Running Man' movie too.🙃😁

Exactly. The Republican Party was formerly a serious party run by serious people. Now it’s led by game show hosts and podcasters. The veneer is wearing off.
Actually it seems like a recent bunch has come in posting up the same whining TDS bullshit over and over and over in every damn thread.
Like I said, just like a car alarm in a parking lot. It's relentless noise.
Yeah you hear it, but nobody cares.
Can anyone explain this tantrum?
$4 billion. That is how much Trump and his family have made by this point in his second term. Almost $4 billion, and almost all of it made this past year.
You must be a troll, blinded by adoration for Trump or, with all due respect, plain stupid!
I feel like you’d need to have a picture drawn with crayons but I would be too worried you would eat them. 🧀
I actually agree to a point. And Trump is more out in the open with his crudeness, but which President, besides Reagan, in our lifetime would you want your children to emulate?
Sadly, we seem to always have to chose the lessor of two evils.
And Trump is much better for the country than Joe was, and Kamala would have been.
give it another year or so and you won't be able to find anyone that voted for trump
...."And Trump is much better for the country than Joe was, and Kamala would have been."
first thing that came to my mind as well. imagine being that dumb lmao.
I don't think its a shift left. I think Trump is going off the rails and also covering up some heinous shit in those files.
The “lesser of two evils” argument is understandable, and many elections have boiled down to that very point. But there’s a bar for many of us that Trump fails to clear. For me the tone was set by mocking a journalist’s physical disability. I hoped it was a temporary loss of reason, as it was a cowardly act. No such luck, and Trump has only continued to double down since.
Pit Row
Wanna put real money down on that prediction?
Yeah, not sure that’s a bet worth taking. Considering you can control the outcome, Mr. Panther!
I think most of us are simply exhausted by Trump’s antics. We still support the same policies but his administration gets distracted by the latest flashy object. I care about taxes, interest rates, national debt, and staying out of meaningless international campaigns (Greenland? Seriously?). ICE, Epstein, and the Olympics play a much smaller role and have little real-world consequences for 300M of us. Focus on the job, brah.
Coming from you, that’s a badge of honor I’ll wear proudly.
It’s The Donalds way of saying…….
“AMERICA FIRST!”
I don’t think so. It’s new players coming in saying the same things, not realizing it’s already been said a 100 times before. Personally, I’m just tired of it all.
I’ve said before, he’s a buffoon.
But, would you honestly rather have Kamala?
Cant blame a fella for trying. 😁
You are 100% correct. Trumps antics are really bad right now. To say otherwise is not being honest.
Im trying to follow the Kevin O'leary's "signal-to-noise" approach to all politicians these days.
I didn’t cast a vote in the last election. But given a choice of Americans having their civil rights violated by federal agents. Ousting a dictator for show while pardoning a convicted drug trafficker because he said nice things about Trump, directing the DOJ to cover up Trumps involvement in Epstein, and having every NATO country question if we can be trusted yea I would choose the other option.
So, how about we compartmentalize each issue. And start with you don't like the person Trump so that's off the table.
Interest rates? Who sets those? DT or JP? And who was/is fighting for lower rates? And who lied to us about "recession" or lowered rates when Biden was president and conditions per their structure didn't justify the lowering of rates. But under DJT would not lower rates claiming we didn't know what tariffs would do. And in hind sight tariffs are not driving prices up. Yes specific things but not every day items.
Taxes? Most people will pay less taxes because of the Trump agenda. But under President Kamala, we would have paid more because Trump 1.0 tax rates would have expired.
Foreign affairs? You think a nuclear Iran is a good thing? What President had the clout to actually do the right thing? Did it start a war? No, because it was done the right way. What about Venezuela? His justified actions there have taken us out from under the thumb of OPEC. OPEC was one of the few things the US had no control over. Now, their power is limited.
National debt? With such a narrow margin in the house, it's very hard to significantly change spending which is where spending originates. But as all the investments in the US develop, revenue will soar, factories don't get built overnight. New good paying jobs, a new strong middle class.
Greenland? It's been several president's that have expressed wanting Greenland but Trump actually was the only one do have success. You may not like his methods because you are so used to "the way we do things" (=not actually doing anything) the it bothers you. But doing things the same way have not been good for us as a country.
So you may not like the person Trump, but you cannot with any honesty say President Trump is bad.
We disagree on a lot of things, I very much respect our conversations brother.
TM
You have some points that may prove to be true but the problem is trump did everything by EO so next president that comes in can undo everything in ten minutes. Companies know this and know they can just wait out Trump.
You are being honest.
I respect that. But I don’t agree.
Unfortunately, Trump didn’t have much choice but to use EO’s to get anything done. The majority was too slim.
If we would kill the filibuster, he could get something done. Of course, we would regret it when the Dems get in.
But without doing it, it will help the Dems get back in, and they will do it themselves.
It’s a vicious circle, no win situation.
The very least concern should be that Trump is off putting.
