Interesting case coming up. The DOJ is taking case to court that could decide gun rights for habitual marijuana users (whether intended or not.) Marijuana is now legal in half the states and is now a class 3 drug so provides the Supreme Court challenges in upholding this.

Not here to start a debate on marijuana, I could care less if you do or if you don’t. I don’t, but I’m on the side of them keeping their rights to bear arms. Perhaps some in the know can clarify if this is the outcome.

Also not here to start a MAGA vs liberal debate. The law is currently in the books and appears to have vague interpretation.

I'd rather come across someone stoned with a firearm than someone who is addicted to opiates or a drunk, to be honest.  Just anecdotal experience for me.

I was just about to type this.

What’s more dangerous, a raging alcoholic with a firearm or a pothead with one?

The government with guns is far more dangerous and has been proven repeatedly.

I think the law currently exists but cannibas sales were black market. My concern would be there are now dispensaries with records, so technically you could have overzealous federal agent pulling those records 🤷🏼‍♂️ if this is upheld, then laws would need to change and I don’t see an 80 years president (republican or democrat) voting in favor of marijuana users 😉 I could be wrong.

Food corps lobbying the FDA to feed people poison, biggest killers we have by far.

Agreed. I lump that in under government. They all know what’s going on. Any claims to ignorance of the fuckery is just an admission of guilt in my eyes.

As class 3, I believe it’s still a controlled substance so law applies. If true, Technically anyone who uses testosterone replacement therapy can’t own a gun. Kind of ridiculous

Pretty sad that the law would come down on me for being a gun owner before they’d ever come down on any of “them” for fucking raping and murdering people. Fuck the government.

From the article:  "A Texas man, was found to be in possession of a Glock 9 mm pistol, around 60 grams of marijuana, and 4.7 grams of cocaine after FBI agents searched his home in 2022."

And Europeans criticize Americans for not using the metric system.  🤣

Ha! The universal measurement for beer is still the pint. Until they change it to 455 ml of beer, they can’t talk 😉

In Illinois we can no longer sell a gun to someone by just exchanging F.O.I.D. cards...we now have to use a F.F.L. dealer to be the go between. $$

The reasoning is there are so many firearms out there its impossible to keep tabs on them

Anyone having Netflix needs to watch the 6 part series, murder mountain.

About the Humboldt county growing area in California.

Ive seen and lived the fallout of what alcohol can do to human lives.  And its not good.

Potheads?   Worst thing Ive observed is a bag of Doritos disappears or some Twinkies wrappers laying on the couch.

😂

"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." OK, the right to keep and bear arms has been infringed, up one side and down the other. That's how valuable the Constitution really is. It can be ignored on a whim.

Agree, I assume the law was written 30 years ago or more before widespread legalization. If Supreme Court upholds it, could be interesting if feds choose to enforce it.
