When I was  building my 89 250 I contacted IMG 0976 3TMR and asked if he had anything left from this era….he said all long gone…..So I just used burnt bronze on some parts & sent it….

I’ve already got a bunch of the works magnesium parts including a inner and outer clutch cover. There’s a few pieces I’m still looking for.

I guess I could, I haven’t ever done that but I’ll try it. Here’s my last 88 oem build.

Awesome! I build an 89 a while back, had one new, one of my favorite bikes of all time….I didn’t want black rims, the wheel builder screwed up and I didn’t want to send them back….IMG 3209 1

Awesome build, Charles! Procircuit does a works pipe, It's not a rare trick bit, but it looks and runs nice.
Sandman,  also like your '89, black rims match with lime Green! And I agree with you, I have an '88 (also with black rims 😅), It's a great dirtbike (power, frame, suspensions...)

This is a ultra trick piece. I don’t mean the standard works pipe. I’m referring to the cone pipe Mitch built for the race team. IMG 1955 4

Yes, I know the works PC pipe isn't a rare "works pipe" 😉...but it looks great and improves the mid to top powerband.

Here are a few photos of the build. Still waiting on the 88 tank, top triple, air box and chain to finish up the bike.IMG 0714 4IMG 0713IMG 0633 3.jpeg?VersionId=t1z59MjBPvUA Wpv54qLIMG 0630 2IMG 0631 1.jpeg?VersionId=WIMG 0627 1IMG 0628 7.jpeg?VersionId=duuGkh1 4IMG 0625IMG 0624 2.jpeg?VersionId=hB71uZHoRDtDdPku9IMG 0620 0IMG 0626 1IMG 0629 5

Sweet build👍 is the 88 tank the same as the 500 tanks? The 89 tank doesn’t hurt👌

Yes, the 88 tank is the same as the 500 and this tank looks better. I want to keep it period correct.

Ya...sweet build👍

I raced a Honda in 88, I remember it had good handling, bent linkage bolts and power wise the motor was so-so.

The 88 Kawi looks like a bike you could go fast on right out of the crate.
