Compressed L3 and feeling a little naked back there.
Never used one but wanting some support and protection
Appreciate it🫡
The GOLD belt
It depends on what you like. As a life-long user of them I don't care for the ones that had the hard plastic on the back (it would always eventually crack and fall apart) since most didn't usually fit me as well (digging in around some of the edges) as a more flexible design. Have dealt with a bulging disc at L4 for about 40 years (apparently born with it) and the belts have always been great
The gold standard (pun intended) was the original Gold Belt... if you can get one.
I've also had good results with lower back/lumbar support belts from companies like Mueller because they gave great support but were flexible and washable.
Note: I'm not large-framed, 6' plus guy and I don't have a gut, so I'm commenting from my experiences. Hope it helps.

I used one as a kid, but stopped for the last 25 or so years until last summer when I injured my lower back at a track. I bought the EVS celtek and started using it. The difference is night and day if you suffer from lower back injuries. I can ride all day and I’ll still be sore and moving slow the next day but my back won’t hurt.
EVS or LEATT offer 2 good belts
I really like my Troy Lee Designs KB3305
Perfect balance of good protection but still feels low profile
HRP biofoam belt by far the best. Great back support & you can’t tell you hv it on while riding. There a lot of biofoam on the outside I thought I would notice it but I didn’t. I got the regular 1 too . The biofoam belt is the best
My last kidney belt. I must have bought it 20 years ago. SixSixOne.
This!!!
Still wear it ? I wear the HRP biofoam belt every time. I do some 4-5 lap heaters with out a chest protector because I like the feeling . I think the hRp helps clean up
Body position.
No. I haven't ridden in probably 15 years. I still have all my gear in a box just incase i do want to ride though.
I always wore a kidney belt right up till the last time I rode. It supported my back otherwise i would have next day lower back pain. Maybe I was more susceptible to lower back pain because I rode sand primarily over hard pack?
I always liked the shorter kidney belts. 6 inch tall over the 8 inch ones that would dig into you, especially the horrible ones with plastic/rubber like the AXO one from back in the day.
This man knows what I'm talking about. 😄
Another vote for Kevco Stubbs. I know a few people with them that swear by them. Mine almost 20 years old and I may get a new one just for the sake of it.

The bio foam HRP doesn’t cut in or restrict movement at all, I thought it would. Nice protection from a foot peg or ? Too
