So if it's OK to throw water bottles and sandwiches at ICE agents, should the agitator that sprayed piss (just my guess what the liquid was) on Ilhan Omar be set free? He did it peacefully, was backing away after so he posed no danger (per the lefty description of danger level). I say lock his ass up. Will the lefties be consistent and say what he did was OK, just peaceful protest?

Blowing a whistle is not assault in my opinion and hard to argue that its obstruction in the ways that videos have shown it happening.  Its always  after the agent has made the target aware of them being a target.

And you would know this how? There blowing their whistles 24/7 Warning the targets of ICE for them to get away.

I don't believe anyone is denying that a multi-state Signal chat existed letting people know ICE's whereabouts.  R66's claim was that it was being directed by the governor's office.

Thank you for providing the link my man and being willing to discuss unlike R66 👍

It was reported that the the LT Gov is directly involved. I believe @datarepublican has posted some names.

NO SHIT ,  Its also to keep ICE away from them . To stop ICE from doing something they are not trained to do. Interact with protesters.  Its to keep 2 parties that are unhappy with each other apart.    No matter how we got here, a neutral acting 3rd party is a good start to cool things down.

How many protests have there been in just this last year for all kinds of reasons? How many people have been killed at other protests by the law enforcement  or assaulted for blowing a whistle?

Watch the news reports on the interactions of the guard and protesters.  I get it that there will always be people who are just there to be a pain in the ass and cause trouble.

The whistles are to bring attention to whatever is happening.  To get more eyes on what is happening.  Its the ICE agents who have taken it as a threat and assaulted protesters.   In the example that CNN reported , the agents were already chasing their targets and the targets  knew where ICE was as indicated by the way in which they ran away from them. IE not towards them. When there is an arrests being made or target running. Its not to alert the target. Its to get more people noticing what's going on. That could be taken as a warning for others to stay out of the way, to film or tape photos, or many other things.  Don't some police use whistles to alert people in a similar way ?

You tell me how a whistle has now become political and is doing anything beyond being loud and grabbing attention?   Oh my god, I just realized all those fans at the races with air horns and bells are really trying to distract the racers and they are not fans, they are attackers that should be arrested and prosecuted.

WTF are you saying? ICE is not following them around. Did you buy that idea from the village idiot? And National Guard is a 4th party. you already have DHS trying to keep the agitators away. Now you need the National Guard to keep the agitators away from DHS that's trying to keep them away from ICE and you're trying to say it's to keep ICE away from the agitators. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Again , ICE agents tackling somebody blowing a whistle is . Hitting and knocking people down that are just filming. That's ALSO bad and as professionals they should be held to a higher standard.  I'm not defending ANYBODY that is throwing stuff or getting physical .

I used 3rd party as  meaning they are neither there as PRO protester or Pro ICE. They are a neutral party there to keep things peaceful. Both protesters and ICE have not all acted great.   Frame it however makes You happy, I'm just glad that somebody is doing something that really looks like its trying to cool things down instead of rile more people up.

There are people that are throwing stuff at police at protests all the time. They are not often killed, are they? What is the difference between an agitator attacking police at any other protest VS at an ICE protest?

Arrest them if they are obstructing and they have proof. Don't shoot them.   Don't chase them around pepper spraying and pushing them down . Get them down, cuff them and transport them to the local PD.  Pretti never resisted .

Go back in time and arrest Pretti and Good for obstruction and we never have this thread.  ICE took it from what could have been a simple arrest to what it is now.

Funny. It seems like all day we have been talking about whether or not the Lt. governor and others in the MN government have been directly involved in coordinating and directing the protestors. Which they have.

Most entered legally. The problem with immigration was the asylum laws on the books. That's how "illegal immigrants" came in. The law that Trump blocked from passing during Biden's admin would have tackled those laws.

I guess you're more happy with the Biden administration having the FBI blow through front doors to get a guy for posting a meme.

The examples that are on VIDEO.

When You are an illegal immigrant who  has been raping and killing people, call me crazy I know You will. But don't you think they are worried 24 /7 that ICE is gonna grab them?  If there are truly people blowing whistles all over town 24/7 all it is doing is confirm ICE is still there. If its that bad, that its all over and 24/7 than it would become irrelevant as a warning.

You can see what a person is against when they say it, but its not so obvious what they are for if they have not said it.  I have been pretty vocal about my lack of trust for BOTH parties. My lack of Love for both main parties.

News Flash, there are more than 2 options. You don't LOVE Biden because You dislike something that aligns with people that lean right.  And You can dislike both or like parts of both.  I don't understand how people have fell for the narrative that politics could ever be so simple as You are either all in on everything one party does or all in on the other.

ICE should just wear body cams and have all the proof they need to show .

Why would protesters be assaulted for filming and ICE and DHS agents would not have body cams ?  Could one of them perhaps know they are doing something wrong and do not want the proof out there?

Well I disagree about the interfering and resisting but I suppose that's up for debate. What isn't up for debate is Minnesota carry law. It says you have to have permit with you at all times to carry lawfully. It's been reported that he didn't. So not carrying lawfully. Petty for sure, but it certainly wasn't conservatives who got that written into law. That would be one of those gun laws liberals use to make it more difficult for people to carry legally so they can infringe on the right. You don't get to ignore it now when it messes up your martyr story. The officers knowledge of the gun or his permit has nothing to do with whether or not he was carrying legally.

That's a lot of words to mentally dance around the fact that he was tackled to the ground before they knew he was carrying a weapon. The weapon was removed. He was still on the ground and it doesn't appear in any videos that they even considered bothering to see if he was lawful in carrying that weapon like you seem so concerned about by stating the apparent carry law for that state. Instead he was fired at and killed while on the ground.

You don't go and harass police/law enforcement. That's asking for trouble. I agree with you above, it's debatable whether he was resisting and tackling him was required in the first place until we get to see the ICE body cameras and what the deceased was filming on his phone.

But the point many of us can't understand is how so many people on here are happy to accept exactly what we saw as okay. Someone gets shots multiple times and killed when they had just been unarmed and hadn't even been able to take their feet.

At no point have I said any of it was OK. People keep reading things into what I'm saying instead of reading what I'm saying.

Once they determined he was interfering there was no possibility for it to be legal carry at that point. A permit wouldn't have changed that. The presence of the gun and the interfering equates to unlawful carry. The lack of a permit just means it was also unlawful carry prior to that.

Add to that he also had TWO (2) extra loaded magazines on his person.  How many of us that daily carry do that routinely?

That might help too. I've wondered what caused more of an influx of immigrants, the border policies or FOX news's 24/7 coverage it being wide open for everybody to just come on in.

Its like a decent product with great advertising. Would You sell so much without the adds?  Not saying that's what I believe was the reason for a lot of border crossings. Just honestly curious about its imp

One day years ago I was driving and somebody flashed their lights to let me know there was a cop up the road.  You know what I did next??? I pulled right up to the cop with the trucks plate number and followed the officer as he chased down this scum of the earth ( after all speeding kills thousands of people every year and  I heard from my Dad's friends uncle that it wasn't legal to flash Your lights at a car to warn them. I will not allow this disregard for the law under my watch!) . When the officer caught up to the offender   he noticed a rifle hanging on a gun rack.  The officer rammed the truck threw 1200 flashbangs into the cab and shot it full of holes with their department issued  full auto death ray  assault weapon  of war gun   after fearing for his life.

Well wouldn't You know it the guy survived and got out and  it turns out it was a Purple goat. And then I woke up. I wish that all of this insane stuff going on was just a dream too. But its not, and we all will keep arguing over things that are even crazier.

It wasn't the asylum laws. It's the previous administration didn't enforce what qualified for asylum. Pretty sure climate change was not listed as a reason for legitimate asylum.

Walz has sent the Nation Guard in to act as crowd control  and allow the Protesters to protest and ICE to  do ICE things.  Now  maybe ICE can do something to help  calm things down.

Tackling somebody who is just video taping or blowing a whistle is not going to calm things down.  It is not the action of a Professional it is the reaction a kid on the playground would have.

Maybe the protesters should just wear MAGA hats and use flag poles with the US flag on them to beat the ICE agents instead of blowing a whistle or filming them, then they can get a pardon and  be home with their family after .

If only they had acted like these fine upstanding citizens who were just site seeing on Jan 6th.  they would both be alive

Notice the woman above bravely brandishing her weapons. A car and whistle.  What an idiot, to think she could get away with such behavior in the US.

Its so sad that people are arguing over the use of deadly force being totally justified by ICE. Yet it was not at all justified for capital Police to have shot a single person .While arguing that Trump had nothing to do with them storming the Capital after he told them to march to the capital and that it would be wild.  And accuse Waltz is working together with protesters because democrats have been against the way ICE is doing stuff and told people ways they could peacefully help and protest.

Funny how blinded by partisan BS people are that they are seeing things the way they are.

While I can kind of understand how they can justify the shooting of Good, its still something that would have been safer to have let her drive away.  Just because the standard of fearing for your life can be meet, doesn't mean its the appropriate action or the action that's in Your or the publics best interest.

Should Capital Police have shot everybody who attacked a police officer on Jan 6th? Using the standards applied to the ICE shootings they could have shot 1000's of people and been justified right? The same fear for their life was very likely present in the Capital police officers minds . If You do not think they would have been justified in shooting and killing all those attackers , but You are arguing that  the ICE shooting were totally clean shootings, take a minute and think about it. How hypocritical it is. How it all comes down to politics and how wrong that is.

Maybe they could have been like some of these protesters who also were not shot. That were at a protest against Obama armed  outside a building he was making a speech at.

obama protest

I've always thought its a bad idea to do something like this , that it could get You shot.  Carrying a concealed weapon and NOT waving it around is different in my opinion .  Perhaps Pretti felt like a precedent had been set as it being safe to have a gun as long as You were not  using it  to make threats.

I really should just stay away from the darkness of non moto, yet I keep coming back.  Hopefully I can work on self control and stay in  the more positive MOTO related area more often.

So how old are you? You just figured out noise at a sporting event has an effect? You actually never knew the home town fans make noise when the visiting team has the ball to distract and disrupt the offense?

That says it all about how I'm wasting my time responding here.

LOL, I was joking about the distraction.  Last I checked this was a Motocross forum and I was using moto examples.

I have grown up following and  participating in  Motocross, BMX,BMX freestyle , etc. And a common theme has been that the louder the crowd cheers the better the race/show is. It energizes the performers. So I guess I haven't figure that noise is a distraction yet, when it comes to sports.

I guess this is all a waste for all involved. If You or anybody here is not open to ever being wrong its not a discussion its an argument.

Most entered legally. The problem with immigration was the asylum laws on the books. That's how "illegal immigrants" came in. The law that Trump blocked from passing during Biden's admin would have tackled those laws.

It wasn't the asylum laws. It's the previous administration didn't enforce what qualified for asylum. Pretty sure climate change was not listed as a reason for legitimate asylum.

This says climate change isnt a reason to grant asylum. https://usipc.ucsd.edu/publications/usipc-public-preferences-migrants-climate-final.pdf

Yes, they did enforce it.

It's almost like things are easier to do when people from protestors to governors aren't fighting you while you try to do it....

There’s been lots of conversation about it, just not in this thread.
