Every year, we get something weird at A1 that makes everyone jump to conclusions. What was the thing that happened this A1 that won’t really be a sign of things to come?
Prado winning a heat and getting third in the main?
Both KTMs looking good?
Chase’s struggles?
Ryder D’s podium?
Deegan struggling?
1&5 for me
Plessinger, Copper & Marchbanks in the LCQ. That’s soooo “A1”.
Deegan racing just to “get thru the program”.
Forkner having that 450 “trying to get out from underneath him” (last night he truly figured out how to hang on to it).
People being cautious in their heat (especially the 450s).
Probably Sexton and Deegan
Prado to some extent as I don’t expect him to podium every week, but the speed and being near the front were no fluke
CS, I want to see him in the front pack going forward.

Deegan 12th to 4th is “struggling” around here huh
I mean he does it to himself. When you talk as much shit as he does its win or nothing. But yes, for him to not be on the ground at some point in that race and to finish 4th. I would say that's "struggling" for Deegan.
Sexton
This right here...
Sexton and Deegan will correct. I just don't know what to expect from Prado week in and week out. Closer to p5-p6 than p3 is my bet, with an occasional 3rd when he gets those great starts on a track that is tough to pass on.
I think all the five points mentioned will continue throughout the season.
You know every time I wanna believe Chase is gonna do well, he has these crazy rides and I realize, Chase is gonna Chase no matter what. Its like he just cant get out of his own way......WTF?
Even if you take out all of the drama and story line of Prado coming into this year his result this weekend was impressive considering it was his 7th supercross race. I don't think winning a heat race and getting 3rd can be that much of a fluke id expect him to be a top 5 guy more often than not at this point.
Now Tomac and Roczen putting 30 seconds into third place riding at what looked like a Sunday cruise might be a fluke I know the rest of the field is hoping it is.
I certainly don't expect to see Cooper Webb finishing in 7th all season.
Webb being outside the top 5, and torpedoing AP. As pissed as I was when that happened both those are un Cooper like.
So you’re actually a super fan then, you think so highly of him he should have went 12th to 1st
I think Prado could easily be 10-12th this week. And that would be fine. Considering he got hurt last year, its his first season on a 450. There's going to be growing pains. It wouldn't negate his podium last week. He earned that straight up
Chase's struggles
The guy is as mental of a racer as it comes. I fully believe we were looking at a ET3/CS4/KR94 battle at the front until chase went OTB and had to ride around a nearly killed JB51 before the restart.
I don't know about any of you, but I have been in a race/on the starting line and seen a horrific crash that mentally crippled me for the next race. Were all human - to witness something that brutal firsthand could 100% mess you up mentally.
Yeah watching a guy wad up and or seeing a guy get airlifted out right before your moto has happened to me more than once. It changes one’s mindset for sure. We’ve sat on the line waiting for another ambulance crew to show up too. Nothing like dwelling on that while you’re sitting there waiting.
I am Hoping A1 amount of injuries do not continue.
Its usually around the 5th round that we start seeing the injuries starting to take their toll not the 1st.
Pit Row
I noticed he still lacks a lot in the whoops. The split whoop section this week could be tough on him.
Webb will be much better than he was at A1. I think he'll be on the podium more often than not this season.
I also don't think Prado will be on the podium much for the rest of the season. I do think he legitimately looked solid and can put together a good season, but I predict he'll be more of a 5-7 guy than a podium guy.
Sexton for sure. You could see him spiraling, which is a very A1 thing (even for him). He'll be on the podium in San Diego (assuming he can figure out his starts).
The lack of complaints about the broadcast and Diffey. I think I only saw 1 thread!
