The 94 MXDN at Roggenburg... Even tho Malin was clearly hauling the mail, it was clear to see Emig's engine was a turd... He was getting pulled by the euro bikes everywhere and Fro did know how to ride a 125!

On another note... What was the deal wit your teams then... Why didn't Henry or Lammy ride the 125 that year? Emig was the 92 champ, wasn't Henry 93-94? LaRocco was the 250 champ, Kied had a busted finger, where was Stanton or MC?

MC in 97 From what he and Albee say that 97 RM250 was a roach and in Mcgrath's book he even said he personally took a set of forks off of his old CR250 practice bike and put on his practice RM himself because the Zook was so bad. It's hard to imagine that factory coming back from that to where they are now!

Pastrana's 2000 RM125 was a dog compared to the PC KX125s and the YoT YZ125s...plus he was enormous, even at 16. He made it work though.

well MC never won any titles on the Zuk. So I would ahve to say the person with the worst bike who ever won a championship was Albee.

If I remember correctly, Larocco did not show up to the Charlotte (I think) SX due to a disagreement between him and Decoster over the forks on MC's bike?

i may not be the best rider out there but i can tell from everything ive rode the forks on my 96 rm 125 that i had were the best ive seen.

Making excuses? I could believe that if he had never won before. However, when a guy wins 4 titles in a row, then doesn't win a title and claims the bike sucked, then gets on a bike he likes and wins 3 MORE titles in a row...........You kind of half to give him the benefit of the doubt!!

Watched it get completely motored by Roncada's and Vohland's on GH uphill. Not that it was an absolute turd but definitely down on power.


Actually now that I think about it, how about Stewart in 2004? Won almost every single moto on a KX125 over a sea of 250Fs. That has got to take the cake...

MC would've had 8 titles in a row if he stayed at Honda or went to any other manufacturer but Suzuki that year.

He MAYBE could've won on the Suzuki if he had more than TWO WEEKS of testing time. I can't believe he even won 2 races that year as it is. He was testing as the series went on.

On a side note, didn't Suzuki practically invent the adjust-on-the-fly clutch that year? They made it because MC kept complaining of the clutch having too much play half way through the race from what I recall.

Haha the 97 bike when asked why he still got great starts he said it was underpowered so his tires didnt spin enough!!! MC for how much he won was a very sore loser and there was a reason everytime he lost, 1997 EMIG was also the fastest he was in SX, and in MX he rolled them. Also 1997 was the first time MC wasnt on the best bike, next year in 98 he was smart and got back on the best bike. FYI the RM250 won the opener that year with albee, bike must of sucked!

My friend keeps up with me on a 99 Honda xr200 at the track. I am on a kx100! I have only been riding for like 5 months though.

Not according to Mcgrath, In Matthes latest Podcast with the King MC said if he hadn't made the switch to Suzuki in 97 due to the First Gen. Aluminum frame Honda being the worst bike honda ever built and ultimately leading him to Yamaha and 3 more SX championships he may have never gotten those title's.
