Visited the south last winter, Florida,Georgia,Alabama and enjoyed most of the riding and tracks I rode. Some of the fees are steep for a 5-6 hr practice time, I do understand all the work, time, effort and equipment involved to operate. $50 is just too much for myself to enjoy the ride.So many other costs involved as we all know. Wondering if y’all have suggestions for affordable tracks to hit up. Mx191 in Milton was great at $30 as well as monster mountain and GPF. I don’t travel past Orlando much as there are slim pickings, moto bros was way too pricey and I can’t recommend, Thanks for your input.

You visited the south from California, you hauled at least one bike with you, and $50 is too much money for you to ride 5-6 hours? This is a joke, right?
No joke, funny you assume. So three days riding in a week you are cool with spending well over $200. I’m into a 3- 4 month visit. Yes $50 is too much. Looking for suggestions on tracks to visit. Thanks
Assume you’re Canadian …how much to rent the ice rink for some hockey? Skiing lift ticket? Round of 18 golf? All more than 50$ some double that…..50$ is the going rate for a well maintained Mx track practice day, anything less is a bargain….If you join Orlando Mx, its 35$ per day,so 3-4 days it pays for itself…side note…Canadians known to be very cheap while vacationing in the USA….I heard free meals in NyC on your way back to the homeland…too bad you’re bro not running Mesa…..how my doing?
Man fuck this.
This has to be ragebait because to say something so brain dead and be able to pick out matching clothes every day isn't possible.
Either way, im sure you can enjoy all the local tracks to you. Wait, they all closed. Makes you wonder why.

Nailed it Sandman. I ride motocross only ,no funds for the other activities listed. We add 42 cents on every dollar and our wages suck for most. Research currency exchange rates Call me cheap big spender as the cost of living is ridiculously high..Orlando Mx sounds good. Be cool if there were some nice helpful suggestions otherwise don’t need your opinions or justifications on over spending. 👍
Sand Man ...LOL i am Canadian and we dont rent a whole hocky rink ,play on my rink for free .do you rent a whole track to ride for one day lol wow. and who palys golf in the snow ???? But i dont think $50 in that much depending on the track . I grew up in tampa in the 60s and 70s then moved to canada , to ride at Wild Rose mx down town calgary is $35 canadian for 3 mx tracks 2 kid tracks
You are comparing multiple locations way far apart. South Florida costs more for everything. Of course Milton and Alabama and south GA can charge less, there's nothing and no one there. It's also an entirely different climate in winter vs South Florida. Property is like a third of the cost there versus South Florida. There is a reason South Florida is the snowbird capital of the world year in and year out. It's the great weather and ability to go to the beach and swim in January. It's like those people who wonder why SoCal has so many fucking people. It's the weather and loads of fun shit to do. I'd gladly spend a few hundred more on my 3 month trip in race fees to be able to leave Moto bros and go paddle board and swim later that afternoon.
Also, MotoBros is a killer facility, with a fun, safe track and it's well worth the 50 dollars. They constantly reinvest that money back into the facility, their other facilities, and continue to seek to open more tracks in Florida. It's easily a top 2 or 3 track as far as being fun to ride goes. So to say you can't recommend makes me question your judgement.
Hey thanks for the input, land is definitely very expensive and climbing along with everything.Insurance is a nasty topic. I did prefer the mid to north Florida into Georgia area for sure. The temperatures are usually great with the exception of some cold spells, wish we could extend the daylight hours slightly. For the wife and I to park at moto bros the afternoon before wanting to ride the next day it cost $55. This $15 spectator fee for both of us and $25 dry camping. My bad for not calling ahead to check on pricing. Never did ride it but had a expensive look.
Don’t sell your bike and take up skiing or golf, you’ll have a heart attack with those fees. Maybe volunteer to flag or something and they will give you a reduced entry
Just having fun… love my Canadian brothers💪…trade beiber & mattress for Triumph & Rush…
next you’ll complain that there were no flaggers at every turn, god forbid a hairpin turn following a jump and right before another jump… while saying that gate fees are too expensive. 🙄
I think one of the problems is everyone wants a prepped track all the time and if it's not prepped riders won't show up and the track closes, I for one don't care if it's prepped.
My closest track charges $40 on prepped days and if you are there 5 hours you get to ride maybe 45 minutes to an hour because they run sessions based on bike size and skill. I go on unprepped days and can ride as long as I want for half the money. If you truly get to ride the whole time, $50 for 5-6 hours isn't awful, but I agree at some point you have to decide where to ride and why.
If you like mx191, check out Styx river. It’s really good.
Milton Mx used to be good but I’ve heard he’s really let it go.
Golfing can be done affordably in many places. Here, there are several places in the $35-$45 range. I can buy a punch card for $300 that includes 10 rounds of golf with a cart at either of the two partner owned courses. Both being in good/great condition. So that’s not exactly a fair statement.
Zippytech i’m with you there, I definitely prefer some rougher track for the most part. That second moto kind of chop for the challenge and solid workout, grooming the faces is all good though. Slow-rider thanks for the suggestions on Styx, I did ride Milton Mx and had a good day a year ago. Love that mx191 and the crew. No more golf stuff eh, that’s the one ball sport.😊
Pit Row
I work with most the tracks you mentioned and know the owners at each.
Monster Mountain - Should be a $50+ track but they have a very healthy training program which I believe offsets things . Also very rural. Track is probably one of the best tracks in America in my opinion.. I believe Keith was very successful in his previous career.
Mx191 - Josh the owner is core as it gets. The track is safe and unreal fun. He has no regular training and at one point was under weird restrictions from the county. He’s operates on a shoestring budget. Personally I think he’s a victim of a poorer area and not having other tracks near by. His average crowd is 30-50 riders. Do the math at $30 a head.
Gpf - Has full time training and wealthy owners. They’re a training facility not a practice track.
Motobros- Punta Gorda and Okeechobee are both top notch facilities. Both places are ran like well oiled machines. You can set your watch by each practice group. They have something for everyone including moms and daughters. Jason the owner has no shortage of money. $50 is fair in my opinion. They’ve purchased almost 50k worth of implements off me. Do the math…..
I have no problem paying whatever the track is asking if it shows in their effort. We recently made our rounds around Florida and hit a few tracks I personally think were overpriced but no matter what I would never complain on an open forum.
Stop whining. You could be in the snow
Where is the line between us regular guys who have real lives to live, kids, bills, and don’t worship this sport and you guys that will genuinely pay $100 to ride?
I ride less because of the price. You can have me twice at $30 or once at $40. Guess which one of those nets less at the end of the month?
It’s not just Florida either. West KY guys are asking 35 and up. Bro we have $2.30 gas like give me a break it’s not costing you that much to prep 9 corners on a one mile track.
Again, some of you guys think it’s so core and “in” to back these guys no matter how deep they get into your pockets.
If $10 is a deciding factor for you sounds like Mx is the wrong sport for you. Tracks have different costs just as you and I do. The average tiller I sell to the bigger tracks cost about $17,000.. Oh yea, that tiller also takes a 120-150 hp tractor which costs 50-90k.
At $30 a head and zero other expenses it takes 3100 riders to pay for just those 2 tools.
I would say the higher prices also keep away the riff raff away and that’s fine with me. I’ve been to the Punta Gorda Moto Bros probably 30+ times and they seem to have far less bad wrecks compared to other places I’ve been.
That's cute that you think these tracks can afford to pay insurance.
We ride at Masters Motoplex in SC pretty often, we camped there one weekend this summer and they worked on the track from 4pm to 10pm on two tracks and filled the water truck up at least 20 times, it was crazy to see how much water it takes in the summer and the track is still dusty by 2pm. Its $30 to ride a day with a $30 a year membership.
We just paid 45 per day at Southfork in VA and 30 iirc, at Cow branch in N.C. Was fine with both of those, so when I opened this thread I expected to see you paid 75 or something
That’s for 18 holes?
This here, if the track is putting in the effort than I will pay the price. If they are just slapping water on hard pack and not performing any maintenance than I can agree with the OP that $40 is too much
OwenJakes has a great response. Again just looking for some affordable tracks to visit. I do know of a few now. Appreciate the input, I should add I ran a track for close to 20 years on our old 50 acres and it is work but mostly enjoyable. I would do it again but my folks sold it. Always had a job and a track and treated riders and the sport very fair with rates and riding from 10am till dusk. Never just relied on the track for income, that was a bonus. 49weasel Josh and Kieth and crews are awesome people and we are lucky they are dedicated track owners for sure. GPF does offer some practice times, maybe that has changed with new people involved. Just finished shovelling the snow from the laneway and it’s been snowing daily for a bit here. Plan to head south around the 15th and get warmer. Love cycling around Florida as well as its setup great with lots of different areas to ride.
Price of gas doesn't matter. They're burning dyed diesel, which is a dollar more per gallon, and burning lots of it. Plus they have to pay someone to operate the equipment, etc. People act like it's cheap to maintain facilities and put on events. It's not.
Instead of moto, look for public riding areas and hit some trails. Usually under $10, some are free.
