With Seattle happening in February and with the chances of rain and possibly snow all week of the race if they will still do it or depending on if they can even get the track made before the race that they might postpone it to a different date.
Just curious because of what happened in Oakland 2 years ago when it was postponed from January to February because of the extreme weather Oakland had the week of the race.
I wonder if someone is trying to kill the Seattle round attendance and get SX moved to another city. As a Washington resident I looked forward to going in person to another supercross in person….until I saw the date. I’d rather fly to a different race/city on a different weekend than sit exposed to the Seattle elements in February.
I am wondering the same as well. I wish they could have it next door, or later in the season. February is bonkers.
Same. Such a shame for myself and my fam (Oregonian). Look forward to it every year. March is cold. February is really cold. We're not going.
Edit: we need at least one round here in the PNW. Preferably towards the end of the season.
This has been beat to death. The issue is the stadium itself and the World Cup impacting schedule. This won't be every year.

It was great in February back when it was in the King dome. In an open air stadium, it's really dumb. It MIGHT be nice weather and a raceable track. The odds of it are considerably worse vs the usual later date. Even then it was frequently wet and cold. I'll be watching on tv.
This is the worst time to be in an outdoor stadium in Seattle weather will suck balls!!
Something I've never understood: why don't they do it in safeco/T-mobile park?
Probably for the same reason Vegas isn't done at Allegiant Stadium and Atlanta wasn't at Mercedes-Benz Stadium; the stadiums said no.
Given what @chasetwo79 said above, though, sounds like Feld was probably given the choice of January or no Seattle round this year because of World Cup.
Right, but I'm wondering why. Why don't they want it there, why do they say no.
Just curious, nothing more. Doesn't change anything.

I couldn’t care less that it’s in February ,my Son and I have had our tickets for 2 months. I’ve lived in the NW my whole life , rain and cold is just a way of life up here. Seattle has been a mud’r several times in the last 6 or 7 years there’s not gonna be a postponement of this race!😂 We will do the same thing we do every year…. Take the bus from Everett to Lynnwood and then get on the light rail down to Seattle. Once there we’ll be having Lunch and some cocktails at “Jimmy’s On First” then find our seats in the stadium ,grab some IPA’s, and enjoy the show……. GOOD TIMES ….GOOD TIMES!💯
Solid info, thank you.
The track looks sweet!
I heard Jason Thomas say the stadiums simply “don’t want the dirt”. I heard Weege say Supercross buys the Anaheim Angels a new baseball field each year, as a part of their deal. I’m not sure why more won’t open up. It would be epic to see Supercross / Monster Trucks at Allegiant stadium! The SMX finale should be there.
...the rains gonna be biblical...
Count me in.... It's madness and always turns into a shitshow for everyone.
Wonder how much ticket sales revenue they throw away every time the event rains out.
What ya do if there is a biblical amount of rain? Are the spectators under cover? If yes then its sounds good but to sit in the rain doesn't appeal to me.
I'm in Africa so the only challenge I have is sucking the midnight viewing up...
You need your Man Card pulled!

SMX finale is a double no as it happens during football season. Anaheim works as they have a ton of time to get the filed replaced and up to standards before baseball season starts
Oh boy 🙄🙄
A couple weeks ago out of curiosity I checked the farmer's almanac and looked at the historical rain/snow fall for that week of February, and it's actually quite low. Less than a half inch of rain on race day is pretty much nothing.

The weather, as expected in PNW this time of year, does not look good. It looks downright...what was that word?
For Seattle, one of the main issues is how long it would take to rehab the grass afterwards. The colder spring temps could cause it to take several weeks/months for it to snap back or for new turf to set deep roots that would lock the turf in, especially compared to a place like Anaheim.
The Hawks play on synthetic turf. Not natural grass.
While I love visiting Seattle in the summer, it can be brutal in the winter and spring months there.
Question for the locals - Why didn't they build a retractable roof on Lumen Field? God knows the Allen family could afford it...
The stadium next door has a retractable roof, I think they wanted lumen or whatever it’s called to have views of the city. The overhangs do protect a decent amount of seats from rain but I still would g go to a race in February there
They wanted the outdoor elements. The stadium was privately and publicly funded. The Hawks played in the KingDome and it had all kinds of problems with the roof from day one. Allen put in 130 million of his own money and promised to pay for any cost overrun's and the test was funded by the public.
The stadium next door -- T-Mobile Park -- is not equipped to handle the heavy machinery required to build a sx track. They use a 100 ton crane, which they have to fit through a small tunnel, to crane in equipment for other events like concerts. It was not designed for it, and is logistically impracticable. Also, fan fest is easily accessible with Lumen Field and not so much T-Mobile Park.

Ill be there! Taking my girlfriend to her first race. Figured there's no better relationship test than Seattle SX in February lol
?? Suck it up buttercup!
They took this from us 5 years ago! Just be happy to have a round to go to!
It will be the exact same shit weather as our usual March 22nd date so stop being a typical salty ass Washingtonian and enjoy it the day of then hit it with some passive aggressive saltyness the next day like only us PNDubbers can!
The cheers for Kitchen will be high, the boos for Deegan will be immense,Marshawn will most likely be there so he won't get fined, there will be no Temecula skanks In sight trying to act 'core' in their flat bills knowing jack shit about the sport, every face will be rutted as all hell, the whole race will be performed in 2nd gear,Chad never won there so Ellie Reed can't write a book about it on social media, the tv crew will cut to the 'gorgeous pnw scenery' *cue Mt Rainier, evergreen trees and the Needle* juuust as your watching the timing gap close on the top 3 in the top left of your screen having been forced to watch 10-11 place for 2 minutes, possibly have your car windows smashed for absolutely no reason unless you pay $4 mill for a parking lot space, atleast ONE guy will run Seattle Sonics gear if not their bike graphics, there will be a thread on vital the next day in support of privateers having to travel so far from the Upper left of the united states to the next round and how this sport chews you and up and spits you out, you'll be broke as shit the next day from buying 2 craft beers from the stadium,we will be soaked as all hell and smell like damp homeless people and weee willlll LOVE IT!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
