Any news on what David Braceras will be riding in 2026? He was racing in Costa Rica a few weeks ago, hope he has some decent options.

Any world championship races (MX2) for Braceras in 2026 with that team?

They ran a decent MXGP schedule last year with most of the rounds, missed a few due to injury, with Josh Gilbert and John Adamson.

So Braceras should get that, and it will means he will probably do the Motul British Championship as well, which will add some interest.

Purdon rode for SC Sporthomes Husqvarna this year who did a split British/AMA schedule with him, Charlie Heyman, and Charlie and Syd Putnam.

Insane that a rider like Braceras cannot get a decent paid ride. I know, he didn’t set the world on fire yet, but he is capable of running top 10 regurarly with top 5 speed at certain tracks

Edit: not a knock on his new team ofcourse. I really appreciate these ‘smaller’ teams giving these guys a shot at the European GP rounds

I think he has had enough goes at it now to show where he is at , and it isnt good enough to bag an MX2 ride that are in short supply.

18th in the MX2 Series behind Zanchi and Prugnieres who both missed more races than he did , is not going to have people beating a path to his door.

But i dont disagree with your sentiment.

British championship is the most stacked it’s been in years now imo - Mewse, Watson, Purdon, Hammal, Sterry, Gilbert, Bruce, Adamson, Braceras, Askew, Colmer, Heyman, Karssemakers and more, it’s great to see

Edit: Somehow missed Searle off there too

Yeah it is a stacked championship. I must say i would love to have the younger brits do a bunch of GPs though, imo i think it would be great for the GPs to have Bruce, Rizzi, Askew, Heyman, Mustoe and Brookes all do a bunch of wildcards in  MX2. Would be good to have more guys in the field in general and would increase interest in the uk i imagine.

We are fortunate to have so many riders who have potential, and i think they would be better served doing MX2 rather than EMX.. in EMX you are a bit of bad luck away from missing the cut, or a bad start away from being 20th . You aren't getting dragged on by guys who are 2/10ths of a second a lap faster than you , but in a field of 25 MX2 guys, where you have more track and less riders, its less frantic, even if it is faster.

Seeing Mustoe, Brookes, Askew take race wins this year was great , and not forgetting Callum Mitchell too, was great , honestly of all of those guys, Mustoe has impressed me the most, because he was never touted as being the next big thing, by his own words to me at Duns, he said ' i was a bit shit on the 85's '  but he has made solid progress since and was legit fast until his wrist break at Landrake, where he was looking like he was going to back up his win, to maybe take the overall.

Brookes has been away through injury for too long to be considered over a full season yet , but he has speed too.

We have some good talent coming through, i hope they can get themselves in a place where it works out for them , but having the likes of Karsmakers and Braceras in gives them all a good gauge of where they are at .

Vítězslav Marek at CERMEN racing KTM is with questionmark... he will race with the team but he might retire due to health issues from broken pelvis on formation lap in 2023 at last ADAC 125 race. That's intel i got at the end of september when he was heading for his third corrective surgery related to that injury... at 18 yo... if the third surgery does not allow him to be painfree he will hang the boots and ride czech nationals here and there... i recall czech mxon manager at 2022 deciding between mikula and marek for mx2 spot... choosing mikula because he said that marek will get plenty more opportunities to represent the country in the future...

I see that Julius Mikula is not mentioned anywhere, regular top15 mx2 guy, fringe top10 when mudfest arrives, gets no decent ride at 19 yo...

This is such a strange part of these European contracts.  KTM is still paying to support his training, bikes, practice mechanic, etc. (I presume anyway), on a brand he is not racing for any more.  Meanwhile, he is missing the valuable testing time on the Honda.  Season starts in only 2 months!  Seems like the US contract model makes alot more sense timing wise....

Missing valuable transition time may be part of the contract strategy

That’s a good look for Herlings!

One of the biggest MXGP signings for Yamaha in history and they couldn’t plan a proper photoshoot?

Honda’s announcement isn’t great, but Yamaha’s is completely lacklustre.

Moto Press doing Moto Press things.

But i guess that the 'date embargo'  stopped them doing anything pre-prepared.

As far back as August , it was common knowledge what was happening, we had Jeffrey in the booth at Duns British Championship, i already told him i wouldnt ask him stuff he couldnt answer before we got going, but we had an off air chat in a break and he said he was surprised that Tim had gone to Yamaha, at that point it looked like Renaux was leaving , and going to Ducati, and he was likely not staying at KTM .

One thing for sure 2026 has the potential to be very good, 2 of the best riders having limited preparation on new bikes, Herlings riding an Aluminium framed bike for the first time in his career, and Gajser not being on a Honda for the first time in his GP career.

The 2026 series will decided in the first 3 races IMO, one way or another, either by Herlings and Gajser properly struggling, or Coenen and KdW letting their MX2 rivalry spill over into what is a very long season, and forgetting the dynamic in MXGP is a lot different as there are 10 guys who could easily win a Moto, whereas in MX2 there were 4 at best.

My dark horse is Andrea Adamo, i think he just lost the ability to override the 250, which he had to do to week in week out, and he might be a solid 450 guy.

It will be interesting to see how Ducati fare in a new (and better) environment.

It’s finally been announced then. I knew that Red Bull sponsorship would go. I just wanna see him riding the big red now.

Honda HRC doesn’t have an energy drink sponsor and Herlings and RedBull aren’t together, why is that? I would’ve thought Jeffrey would’ve had a personal deal with RedBull for all these years and would’ve carried that over to Honda since they don’t have an energy drink deal, kinda weird.

HRC Europe doesn’t allow their riders to have an energy drink sponsor.

Any idea if HRC pays them the difference they could earn from Monster, Red Bull, etc.? If not, that's a lot of money left on the table.

That I don’t know but I should imagine that must be brought up in the contract negotiations.

It also seems Herlings has managed to keep Oakley as his goggle sponsor. Normally HRC Europe riders have to run all Fox gear.

That’s what I was thinking, on a factory team but limited to bringing in more money on your own. Gajser did have a Monster helmet for a year or two I believe. Roczen and Herlings had to have been their RedBulls two longest moto guys.

You're probably right, because I was a little bit surprised to see Vialle no more with 100% goggles...
