Any theories on why Bongino is stepping down?

Is a book coming?

Will he light up Bondi and Patel?  Trump said "I think he wants to go back to his show". Now don't you think Trump should know EXACTLY why he is leaving? Or at least know what he was told instead of "I think"? Seems odd.

Maybe because he talked big about specific topics and turned out to be completely full of shit when he had achance to do something about it.  He's better at talking than doing ,  apparently

Personally I am not a fan of how the FBI have handled certain things. Feels CIA’ish.

How did he get the gig in the first place?  He’s barely qualified to run a Burger King.

He did say he’d give it a year.  My guess is he’s tired of butting heads with Bondi, so he feels like he might as well leave the swamp and go home to his wife and daughters.

The guy's a stand up guy as far as I can tell. He was Secret Service for several presidents. Clinton, Bush, and Obama.

That long on presidential detail deserves respect in my opinion, especially when your protecting the life of someone you don't support.

If I had to guess, I think he wants to tell more than allowed and is not comfortable with that. I could be way off but that's my $.02

FYI, do you know why they say "a penny for your thoughts" and "here's my two cents", it's because my opinion is worth twice as much as yours 😁

I don't suspect he will be taking many calls when he goes back on air.

You can't deny his credentials in law enforcement. Maybe the restrictions and politics were too much for him. He may have the integrity to not kiss and tell like many other administration refugees over the last 50 or 60 years. If he returns to private life like that, I will give him props for that. Washington is largely bereft of integrity.

A lot of theoretical angst towards DB that flies in the face of what he’s done since being on this job…

He was absolutely PISSED about The Administration NOT releasing info on known…and they’d “committed to releasing” per the campaign…he was PISSED about NOT following up on the promise and there was talk, in the media, of him quitting early on.

Maybe I just see things through rose colored glasses. I tend to think most people are good until they show me otherwise.

Yes, it's come back to bite me in the ass more than once.

There it is…

Some of you guys REALLY just don’t like some of these people…”no matter what”…and then…you accuse others of having the uninformed political one-sidedness that you all suffer from.

No worries. It’s actually pretty damn entertaining 🤣

Unless you count lying and stealing, there isn’t a single competent individual in politics.

Anyone that works for Trump is continuously being torn between two opposing directions because he prioritizes "loyalty" over whatever ideologies, morals, and standards, that any position requires. The more successful they are, the more they've sold their soul, so quitting reflect positively on Bongino. It's basically the same struggle that conservatives have faced in the voting booth since 2016.

Obviously not. No one goes around here cheering for Biden, or claiming he was a good president.

And he’s not wrong. The only thing Trump values is that you are loyal to him. As soon as that goes he throws you out with the trash.

I don’t know Bongino from a papa John’s pizza but he’s probably making a smart move getting out now.  Now we will see how long Kash-money-puppeteer lasts.

Sometimes I really wonder what you're talking about. So are you trying to say taking rapists and murderers off the streets is "loyalty vs ideology"? That Scott Bessent is not focused on our economy but just a lap dog to Trump? I could go on but in my head I ask myself, why, why bother. 🙄

Taking criminals off the streets no matter who they are is how we see loyalty to an ideology. When Trump does things like endlessly pardon a pile of scamming fraudster scumbags, we see that he has no loyalty to an ideology, only himself and his pocketbook. When fraud is so visible at the highest level, it's a hundred times worse behind the scenes and if that's not who Bongino is, the job would be torture, which is exactly what we've seen from him. America has had plenty of corrupt politicians, but this time is different because our people see it and even worse....we like it. Politicians come and go, but we're the problem now and we aren't going anywhere.

No, seriously. How many organizations has he managed?  How many people have directly reported to him prior to the FBI gig. Nothing to do with Trump. Just looking for credentials.

PS: I’m a republican. I expect better than Biden. I didn’t get it.

Seems pretty obvious now, he doesn't want to be a part of this.

Maybe I am wrong, but I get the feeling it was his lack of expectations vs his lack of options for legal actions.

He seemed to have the drive and determination, but did not realize the political grift side with both sides just lying for political bullshit games.

You honestly don’t think he’s better than Biden?

$5 gas and, illegals by the millions, and transgenders in his cabinet?

Thats better?

Bongino might have been “best of the worst” in comparison to others.  At least Noem had true leadership experience, although her head may be on the chopping block.

If only Trump staffed his cabinet with folks like Susie Wiles.  Cabinet members should be the smartest guys in the room and free to debate the president.  But that’s not happening.

I don't get it... Are you saying unelected cabinet members don't have enough influence over the democratically elected president? Didn't we just go through four years of that hell?

You make a good point. And a president won’t staff his cabinet with those who will push back by default. But Trump’s choices are people whose professional careers ride on his good graces.  Patel, Bongino, Noem, Hegseth, etc. are more sycophants than proven leaders.

Parroting Trump over social media is one thing; managing massively complex organizations is another.  There were more talented options which would have served the president and the electorate better.
