Who, in your opinion is the best, most respected journalist currently working in Motocross?
In America I'd have to vote for Eric Johnson, his article's in RacerX are always well researched and a joy to read.
DC writes well, when he gets time.
Jody's articles on his recollections of vintage racing are the ones I first read in MXA online.

In Europe, have to give the nod to "Sir" Jack Burnicle. Sadly he is the voice of Eurosport's Motorcycle coverage and only gets to write a monthly retro article in UK Dirt Bike Rider.

So who do you like as a moto journalist, either past or present?

EJ is a good writer, but for me his credibility as an objective journalist suffers from his job at Monster.

I think all those guys listed are "most of the time" great to read. Not sure on Jack B......since I don't think i've ever read anything from him....maybe I have?

But I also agree about matthes......he does some cool stuff! I dig some of the things he does and writes about. He's a good dude to "lighten" things up a bit and make it fun.

And Davey....YES.....lve reading a bunch of his stuff to. He always seems to write with a level head and puts thing into perspective. He has done more for American SX and MX than anyone I can remember. Dude is awesome for this sport.

And lets not forget about our own GuyB either......he does some great stuff to!

Jack Burnicle. And besides, he was the "Best Man" at my wedding in Stourbridge just over 22 years ago. I was reading Jacks GP stuff in MXA since the late 70's and always felt like I was there with him at the races. The GOAT of MXdN reporting of all time. Eric Johnson couldn't hold Sir Jack Burnicles jockstrap. Laughing

Matthes tells it like it is but occasionally upsets some of the "sensitive" riders...
DC writes great articles and is really in the middle of everything- which can't help but influence his writing.
Swap does a great job of showing the lifestyle and personalities of the riders- especially in his films.
Jody is funny and has been around forever but is only relevant in SoCal.
Cox writes some good articles and does a great job..
Most respected? We're not talking about Walter Cronkite here- They're all great just
depends on your taste and what you like..

Matthes is the one most likely to tell it like it is. Everyone at Racer X has to hold back because of the MX Sports connection and sponsors/advertisers/other employers.

Anything Cudby does is golden. Might not do many interviews but the photos are top notch.

We should all look at moto journalist just as we do riders. They are only as good as their last article.

I know that I don't agree 100% with any of them.

DC. Most respected. The big dog. His words carry significant weight.

Matthes. Prolific provider of moto info. Stunning variety of podcasts, articles and tweets. The PulpMx show is not to be missed. He has given us lots of Kenny ... can't wait for the Uncut show.

Weege. Always a good read or listen. Probably the best writer.

Ping. Insider. A little tainted with his opinions but mostly a really straight shooter.

MXGeoff. Respected. Aussie. Bringing the Euro flavour.

Izer. Cool guy. Core Moto supporter. Obsessed with poop and genitalia but carries a gun with a "laser". Gotta love that.

Jody. Old stories are great but often his words are driven by spite or some other unknown contamination.

EJ, Don, Gobert, Cudby, Cox. Hard working Moto guys.

We are doing very well with these guys informing and entertaining us as regularly as they do.
