Seems factories could care less if they have factory bikes on the track. I can remember back when that was not the case in giving a privateeer a chance.

I mean, it’s Facebook official. To be fair tho, I did see the post about Jo getting hurt before it was posted about here and it ended up being right.

Jett will be racing both classes west coast as a training block. Stamp it.

Well I was if you read what I said. I clearly stated outdoors multiple times because Jo will be out for most of outdoors and it's possible he misses the entire season. He isn't going to be competitive in any series this year.

But if you want to look at SMX, he was the highest ranked rider without a ride which was the only point I made. I am not even advocating for him to get the ride. I just stated a simple fact that he's the rider with the highest potential ceiling that could fill in. No amount of whining about the warts he has changes that.

You’ve mentioned a few times now that Jo will either miss most of outdoors or he’s out for the year. Where did that info come from? Honda’s PR said, “[Jo] is expected to make a full recovery, though it is common for that process to take approximately three months with this injury.”

I'm just comparing it to previous injuries that I've seen. Jeremy Martin and Pierce Brown are two to reference. Of course everyone is different, I jam just being realistic in the timeline is all. I hope it's a quick recovery and he's back.

Why compare it to unrelated injuries (JMart's was his lower back) when Honda's PR tells you the common recovery timeline for the injury Jo has?

I've said multiple times I hope it's much faster recovery and he's back ripping at full speed by outdoors like they say. I hope it happens.

Until Progressive and other sponsors express their name not receiving any exposure.

Come on folks.  It's still over a month before the season begins and there are plenty of good 250 riders without signed deals.

Like him or not (I don’t) but Vince Freese would be a good choice

Great starter , decent results on a 250 , gets tv time .

Probably at the top of the  a replacement fill-in

Wasn’t my question.

Judging by your profile picture, a grown man and a child flipping birds for photos, I’m gonna go with you’re not the best judge of character either.

So how do fill in rides normally work? Does the rider getting the "chance" ride for free to be able to have the support and opportunity to ride for a factory team?

Cullin Park for example if he's riding for MCR and getting a salary and bonuses for racing for them and he decides to gamble on a fill in ride and ride for free all year with HRC who says that translates into a better ride in the future that offsets what he lost this year racing as a fill in?

In Hondas position, if their sponsorship contracts don't require them to fill a certain number of riders why would they voluntarily eat the cost of supporting another rider while also paying Jo's salary who's not racing?

There is far less 'normal' than you might be imagining, when it comes to any riding contract negotiations.  So, even less so when it comes to negotiating a fill-in ride.  Only those behind the curtain know what the many variables considered and discussed are.

Honda's riders have indeed produced a lot of advertising copy in the past couple of years, but they have also had parked bikes in their pits at a lot of the races.  I'm confident there are discussions occurring between those interested in making something happen with these bikes in 2025.  Especially with a month to figure things out yet.

First you do not even see the logo when the rider is on the bike. Second Honda does not care as they do not need an outside sponsor. If Progressive wants to sponsor them, cool. If they do not fine.

No point in arguing. The same people will tell you to give a spot to a privateer who hasn't cracked the top 15 as if the bike is all that's missing not the base pure speed.

What about Shane McElrath, he’s been riding pretty solid in the 250 sx series in aus and wsx?

Yep. Just like Savatgy who tried to appeal it when he was riding for Triumph. He had to sit out SX and wait for outdoors because they didn't have the 450 ready in time. They didn't budge on the ruling, but you can't blame him for trying.

X2 on Masterpool, but I doubt Honda goes that route. Of course, if I was Masterpool, I would’ve already been reaching out.
