So, while working on the reservoir, can anyone say how a well a bladder kit helps?
Sort of, kind of, on topic. Deciding whether I might need said tool.
We may be talking about a different shock, but I just did seals, gold valves, and a bladder on my 2018. I used a pin spanner from Harbor Freight and WAY more heat than I thought it should take.

Yes, my propane torch wouldn't work. Had to use the map (yellow) to even get it hot enough to take off, then used a strap wrench. I mainly switched for ease of maintenance with the valve and to not need another special tool to fill with nitrogen.
Ran the bladder kit + 6500 kit on KTMs for the past few years. The bladder kit was a noticeable change but in my experience, just marginally better than my already resprung/revalved shock. xtrig preload adjuster was the best investment I made to the shock since it made setting the sag easy so I actually did it often lol.
Ktech it is... $19 to ship the tool 5000 miles from UK.
Ive been a race tech customer on and off for 25 years, they want $27 to ship the tool 500 miles within california. I'd prefer to support US workers but holy F!!
Racetech is insane with shipping. I think they wanted $40 to ship probably 14 grams of cartridge rod seals less than $100 miles to me. To be fair, factory connection wanted something similar.

Why is RT shipping so high? I've tried to buy from them before, myself, and ended up going elsewhere because their shipping prices are so obnoxious.

On the older gen bikes ( - 2022), they sometimes had so much loctite that if you only used the tool you could sense the can was almost about to collapse since it's twisting it from the opposite end of the threads. Yes, even with sufficient heat. Don't think it's as much of an issue with the can design on the new gen bikes. The tool is nice but mostly unnecessary on the new gen bikes. Heat and strap wrench and they come right off. Be careful with the amount of heat so that you don't cook the o-ring in there in case you need to reuse it.

Can make one in under an hour. Saran Wrap over the end of the shock, knead some 2 part epoxy putty and press in the bottom of the shock. Saran Wrap over top of epoxy. Press a sock into the epoxy covered with Saran Wrap.. Let it set and you now have a perfect fitting socket to turn the reservoir off.
