Seriously, if You guys hated it when Biden or Obama  did it, why do You go to the ends of the earth defending somebody from doing " the same thing" ?   Personally I will be happy when Trump does something I approve of, and mad when he does something I do not. Same with every other president no matter the party.

Why would I vote for somebody else who's doing all the same shit that has pissed me off when somebody else did it?  Why do people think its OK for one and not the other.  Do You see how ironic and hypocritical it is?

I don't think its the Pardon alone that's the problem. Its the  going after low level people with 0 evidence to show, putting them to death and then letting one of the people out of jail that has been convicted for doing the same thing they are putting people to death for. That went through a trial and had evidence that proved their guilt.

No matter if I agree or disagree with who gets a pardon or not. I do not think they should be allowed to be reversed like Trump is talking of doing. It sets a bad precedent for whoever comes next to just undo Trumps pardons too.

Did I say I hated it when Obama did it? Nope, I think it was a viable tool to protect our people. Was it abused? Were there some mistakes? Probably, but it was still the right thig to do. I also believe (without any real info) the people on those boats would get killed by the cartel people if they stopped and gave up their drugs and ended up in the jail system. The cartel is based on people that are willing to give their life to carry out the task assigned to them. The people in the boat are much more afraid of the cartel then anything we can and will do to them.

TM

Its more for the people that are defending Trump's actions when he does something they disliked  Democrats doing it.   Maybe its just the right leaning media I see that will call out Democrats and praise republicans for the same things.  Left leaning media seems to do it less and be more willing to call out their own party.

If You agree that its OK for both to have done whatever thing it is. This is not a question for you.  I'm not saying that anybody shouldn't reply if they want. Just that my point was meant more for the people who feel that way. And this is in a general way not just these specific strikes. But  anytime that a defence of something is that the other guy we hated did the same thing. But we love it now cause its Trump.

Since politics weren't allowed in non-moto at the time, those of us that were critical of the Obama admin and it's policies had no soap box to shout from, but sure keep trolling as if this is an apples to apples comparison.

EDIT: Isn't this the very definition of "whataboutism" that Manny and others decried when people brought up the dumb shit Trump did in his first term? Or does this no longer apply since using Biden is so easy to try and deflect from the dumb shit he is doing now?

OK, "politics weren't allowed", fair answer. However, I'd hardly call it trolling as I believe it is the same thing. We were bombing the shit out of people that were responsible for killing our fellow Americans with bullets, IDEs, ... and now we are blowing the shit out of the supply chain (including the boat crew at times) that are trafficking a different lethal product designed to kill our fellow Americans. And make a shit ton of $$s in the process of killing our fellow Americans. I personally see it as the same thing and am 100% in support of it. I 100% believe we have intel people on the ground that are giving feed back where and when to strike. Also these are not recreational vessels. Many of these vessels are task specific designed and built. The vessels are given the opportunity to stop an be boarded prior to elimination. Given the fact that they don't do that is quite telling. I fully support this. And for the crowd that complains the supply is driven by the demand. When you're a parent and you have a 3 year old that has a stack of cookies in front of them on a table, you don't lecture them about how eating cookies is bad for them, you take away the f#@%ing cookies. You can teach them later. but you don't do it while they are eating an unlimited supply of cookies. And as far as the pardon goes, I don't know enough about it to understand it. But the fact that one thing happened does not mean stopping the flow of drugs is a bad thing.

Should we apply the same to Americans suspected of transporting drugs?  No apprehension, no trial. Just take them out because it looks like they’re “in the act”.  A few innocent people might get caught in the frag pattern, but that’s the cost of doing business, right?  I mean, it’s the exact logic being used off the Venezuelan coast today for the purpose of shutting down supply.

Are those "Americans" part of the cartel terrorist organization? If it was an American boat captain, bu bye!

We already apply the same to domestic smugglers. We try to stop them. By any stretch do you think the smugglers couldn't stop the boat or jump off? Do you think gang and drug cartel terrorists don't ever get shot by police? If those are the tools available to them to stop terrorists, use them.

I thought the goal was eliminating supply?  You know, the cookie analogy?  Now we’re limiting the scope to cartels?

While I lack the numbers, I’m reasonably sure that American (re: non-cartel) drug traffickers based in the US play a more significant role than a few small watercraft hundreds/thousands of miles away. Eliminating those individuals & groups would have a greater, more immediate impact on supply. Why isn’t SecDef posting infrared footage of these take outs?  I’m sure SoCal is chock full o’ targets.

So given the choice of death or death, they are choosing death. Got it.

Do we know if the boats are asked to stop before we are firing at them?

Does this mean that there will be drone strikes on the next  protest that they say Antifa is responsible for?  Or drone strikes instead of sending Ice in for the Trendy amigo's or whatever the gangs name is that has been designated as a terrorist group. If it's only those things that justify the strikes, they seem like they could be easily applied to other things and groups.

I do feel like I'm doing what I dislike politicians doing, saying that one thing is just a few steps away from some outrageous thing. When in reality that is highly unlikely. But these days so much happens that I would never think would , so here we are.

I do think that many of those strikes that have been done in the past have hurt America as much or more than they may have helped as far as stopping terrorism. WIth groups using those strikes to help them recruit and gain support from others in that country. Its a little bit like putting a fire out with a jug of gas. WHo knows what new terrorist group could grow from these drone strikes enraging the locals and families of the people on the boats if they were not drug smugglers. We know that some of what was done in the past helped some of those groups grow.  Shouldn't we learn from it and try another way??

Is that other org blasting houses to bits on the suspicion that it’s storing and distributing drugs? Or do they conduct coordinated raids, seize the assets, and apprehend the suspects.  Because this approach has greater value and adheres to US laws. What’s happening in the Caribbean is the exact opposite. In every sense.

I find it so weird the current clown show administration thinks it’s ok to blow up suspected drug runners who are in no way able to get those supposed drugs to the US. They aren’t even necessary destined to the US. Maybe they will be transported to some country that doesn’t care? Who Fing knows, you shouldn’t be able to just give people the death sentence just because!
It’s fucking cocaine let’s just party and have a good time

I hope this dumb ass Fox News host idiot controlling our military gos to jail for this

But controlling the Mexican cartels who seem to be responsible for the fentanyl should be a priority. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like they are. Not enough oil in their country

Is it provided to US citizens by other countries? Go to Mexico and commit a crime, and you’ll probably wish you were vaporized!

Many will say that it’s what sets us apart and gives us the moral high ground. I get that, but it is also part of the reason all other countries think we are suckers.

I'm pretty sure they can walk on solid ground so they can use different tactics. Terrorists do not get the same due process. I'm good with destroying drug vessels. Wish it would have happened sooner! Too bad President Obama didn't do this. Would have given me something to praise him about. 😁

I believe that most people view the right to due process and the presumption of innocence to be inalienable rights. That means that they are not granted by government edict and the government (any government) can only honor them or infringe upon them. If you view a right as inalienable, then someone’s citizenship or immigration status is not relevant because all humans are born with those rights or given them by their creator.

If a ‘right’ isn’t inalienable, then it’s just a privilege granted by government.

I was doing what the media should do, reporting what i heard and saw without bias.

"Caroline Leavitt just said in todays press briefing that the Honduran people told Trump the former head of Honduras was set up."

When did Trump find time to speak to all 9,571,352 Hondurans?

You are being a douchebag .

And i have no desire to engage.

"And i have no desire to engage."

Yet you engaged by replying to my post, hypocrisy at it's best

I saw a short segment of some reporters on AF1 talking to Trump about that. Trump pretty much verified my contention that he is set out to undo as much of Biden era shit that he can. He has a special turd in his pocket for Biden because Biden beat him in an election. Therefore EVERYTHING Biden did was illegitimate. He cant help it. It's a feature of chronic narcissism.  Now there may be other shit going on here too, but the pardon looks like a manifestation of Trump's mental illness.

I'm glad you don't automatically give credence to Levitt's propaganda. I don't take a lot of this shit too seriously but nobody should pay any attention at all to what she says. Other than for entertainment purposes.

Wow, just wow. I could not have said it better.

I'm pretty sure they can walk on solid ground so they can use different tactics. Terrorists do not get the same due process. I'm good with destroying drug vessels. Wish it would have happened sooner! Too bad President Obama didn't do this. Would have given me something to praise him about. 😁

Yet the Coast Guard pulls it off with regularity…

So, if this is different because the Venezuelans are terrorists, how are we defining the word “terrorist”? Serious question, because if supplying the US with illegal drugs is the foundation, then we have thousands of home-grown terrorists subject to random annihilation.  No due process for you guys!

"how are we defining the word “terrorist”?"

Depends on the day and what they are doing. Before Osama Bin Laden was a terrorist, he was a "freedom fighter". And then he wasn't.

I'll give you a short answer.

Biden and the west coast Democrat Governors  did NOTHING about fentanyl.

So when Trump goes all hard core against drug runners it feels pretty damn good.

You bring up narcissism...how about nihilism? That seems to be what the powers that be in the west coast Democrat party want. A self destruction of society.

Trump does nothing but killing a few people for propaganda. This won't fix the problem. Its actually getting worse. Federal court documents show the number of people charged with drug-offenses dropped by 10%. Money laundering cases, often used to prosecute highlevel traffickers, dropped by 24% vs previous years.

Biden doing nothing is simply wrong.

If these Venezuelan boats are carrying drugs and they are traveling to the US (which is in doubt) they aren’t carrying fentanyl.

Here’s how I see our government, in the big picture, treating us…talking to us…ultimately…

“Hey, you! Just SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PAY YOUR TAXES! We know what’s good for you. We’ve been governing this way since November 22nd, 1963. And a good citizen just shuts the fuck up and does what they’re told!”
