I think the best thing about Mike right now is he isn't in a full on panic over results, his talent will come to the top soon enough.

Amen!
People who rag on Alessi do not see his talent. I respect this kid!
What I think would be funny if all of the Alessi haters had a race with him......
I wish the best for Mike and anybody that pours their heart and soul into the sport!

Go Mikey!

I know.. but a lack of bikes on track with Musquin injured still applies. especially since he was supposed to win races and gain exposure. So get Alesssi in for Supercross too... even if it is last minute.

if Mike is planning on racing the US series he needs some serious testing, he has been seriously off the pace down here, at Auckland he looked woeful in the whoops, and was not doing any of the bigger rythem sections the top 5-7 guys were,

That has absolutely nothing to do with testing, that's Alessi riding supercross.

There is no factory ktm 450 effort for 2011. He will ride the 350.

If that's true then Andrew Short was lied to because he has said in many interviews that he has the chance to chose between a 450 and 350.

You are right, but my hope is that RD can change Austria's mind. I have seen Mike ride both the 350 & 450 on the same track right after each other and dropped 3-5 sec. a lap. He is not a guy who rides a bike at 12-15,000 RPM like the 350 needs to be ridden. He is a 6-8000 RPM power rider. He needs to be on the 450. Bottom line.

Holy crap! How can they justify him being on a 350? Why wouldn't they want a potential outdoors title regardless of the bike it's on? As long as it's orange...

Yup. It's obvious to anyone who's watched Alessi for a long time. Even as an amateur he was better off with as much power as you could give him. On the 250F he was a big-time short-shifter.

If KTM is going to take Mike Alessi to races all around the country, they would be fools to not let him ride the bike that fits him best. Especially when they've got it in their arsenal.

Nagl rode the 450 last year and loves power, but even he is going 350 because his laptimes where better on it.

mike is one of the hardest working riders out there and even though his results have not shown that lately, doesn't mean he's not putting in that same effort and trying his hardest. i know your a pro bench racer and all but until you make your way around a ama sx track how bout you keep your mouth shut instead of making fun of him?

I'm good thanks. He's never been in contention for an AMA sx win. Let alone for a title.

Two things happen when your a god damn minicycle phenom

1. Everyone wants a piece of your sh!t

2. National Championships become your bitch and race wins perspire from inches of hard work.

I am the man who has the golden wrist. I am the one who can twist it harder than F*ck. I am the best in the world everyone else sucks.

Rockwell said he'd be a contender. Implying that he'd be contending for wins and a championship.

He needs to get home , there are guys beating him down here on near stock equipment that buy their own bikes and work a full time job it is crazy to watch.

That cant be good for the kids mind. he seems to be getting slower not better as the week go by, poor Tony must be tearing his hair out.

The bigfella is spot on the money. Those that have seen him race down here will tell you he has gone backwards and not just a little bit, a lot. The speed he is going now, i would highly doubt he will make a main in the US unless there is a dramatic improvement.

His confidence has to be shot, he is getting towelled up by guys a couple years ago he wouldnt have had a problem with, it is actually sad to see.

Hopefully Roger can weave some magic, he is going to need to.

Alessi is not a threat to podium in SX - but if he can race and improve each week he will be a threat in MX. In the past he was a top 5 or 6 rider in SX but even if he is riding his best (when he was on Suzuki) he would only be a top 10 or 11 with this years field.

But with racing each week, listening to RD, getting his mojo and staying healthy, Alessi can be a threat to be a top 3 -5 guy in MX - maybe even in top 3.

I hope he gets his mojo back - he was fun to watch ride.
