Amateur racers are the back bone of MX around the world and is where all of our MX stars started! Racing for us is not done for "little plastic trophies" as some of those say that do not race, we race because we are competitive and like to win as much as any pro and that translates to fun!

So how did all of you who race do this year in your championship series? This is for all ages BTW not just for the "kids" Ha! I'm 58 and still as focused and driven as when i was i my 20's. Ok its time to brag or complain or tell your quick story boys and girls!

Me D-23 +40B 1st place, +45B tied for 1st, qualified in first round for +40 loretta's but decided it was to much work to go further. I had a fun season with no major injuries for once! Soon back to Brasil for the winter and try to race the series there and i may hang at the beach a bit if i am forced by my GF! Wink

Mine has been sub-par I guess. I compete in cross country and rarely race moto, so I guess this isn't on subject. It's my first year in the expert class (A class, whatever you want to call it) after back-to-back broken arms last year. I started off horribly, wasn't mentally into the racing at all. I've been challenging for wins for the past four races, but have yet to pull one off. I've lead the most laps, so I guess that's a plus. I have a new bike, moving up to the 250 class next year and really ready for that. Only one race left in the TORN series (the series I'm speaking about), but the winter series is just beginning. Year-round racing here in Texas.

Very good - I met my goals for the year. I won our local A-class championship and was second overall in Youth. On a 5-year old CRF450. It was very satisfying!

I got cleared by my doc (ACL replacement) to ride the friday before our state series started. First half of the year went ok, but then I got my suspension revalved and something clicked and I ended up sixth in the 450c class. Yeah I know Im slow, but my bike looks cool.

My kid had a decent season.

Finally got back in the groove after breaking his back in 2008 and making the move to the big bikes in 09.
Couple nice holeshots and a moto win was good for this year, next years goals are a little higher.

Best part was the smile on his face and no ER visits......lol.

Gold Cup @ Perris: Bad starts, horrible results.
Gold Cup @ Glen Helen: more horrible results.
Had surgery in Febuary, was out til July.
Worked hard to get in shape the whole time I was off.
LACR Last ever race: 5th place
Trans-Cal Milestone: Bad starts, last place both motos.
I end my 2010 season with a dislocated shoulder.
After 2010, i'm the biggest joke in motocross
Hopefully by the end of 2011 i'm the next big thing in motocross.

Don't think i'll be ready to "do work" by Gold Cup in January, but maybe the LLQs. We'll see.

Rode about 6, maybe 7 times this year thanks to the great economy. Pretty much wraps up my season. Hopefully i can get back to racing next year.

We got 18th at the big show....hence the birthday thread.

We're gonna do better next year because we are a year older in the same class.

I only raced once to show my little one I know how.

I had the typical up and down.......not as good as you did Craig, with your 1-1. You rode good this year, i watched numerous times.

I ened up 6th in my Vet B, with only 9 races and won a series title at Cambridge summer series.

Overall decent year, only ER visit was to check out my daughter aftter a crash, but all went well.

Turned 40, shattered Tib and broke radius, recovered quickly and was getting up to speed when I tore MCL in opposite knee...... So have not raced in 18 months.

Funny thing is, I never even fell off the bike in either of these injuries!!! Maybe I have learned a thing or two in 25 years of riding.... even if the doctor doesn't believe me...lol

I DIDN'T GET INJURED!!!!! and didn't break my bikes, couldn't ask for anything more!!!

got a few trophies and 2nd in points @ 2 tracks in D6

Hey good job at Cambridge! Total sand track that was not the best layout this year and tough to be consistent on. I won all 4 motos the first race there but the second time they reversed it and on the first lap of the first moto i caught my leg and torn my groin! Healed up in about 4 weeks thoughSmile See ya next year, hope your daughter is well!

Great to see all you guys love to race, when you hit the track in a real race it brings out the beast in you eh? Ha haSmile

Well down here in Texas I did absolutley no racing until June when the Ponca Quali's came around. I won the 250 2-Stroke qualifiers and 4th at every 450B Stk race. Ponca came around and I had horrible luck getting 6th the first 2 stroke moto and battling for 3rd in moto 2 when I crashed down to last. Came back to 12th for 9th overall. 450B I had bike problems all week. Came back to TX and moved to pro. Won the overall in the 450A for the Best of Texas Fall series and got 2- 5ths at the Graham Arenacross in the 450 pro.

Mine was okay, a little disapointing. First year on the 450.
After Baltimore, Hampton and Youngstown Arenacross I finished second in points in 40+ and 35+ and went to Vegas in May. Going to the Supercross finals and racing the track the next day was awesome- although I rung my bell second lap of practice and finished 14th on the day.
Didn't make it past Loretta's local qualifier and pretty much quit riding the MDRA Series in July after my leg was hurting so bad. Taking a break from riding right now to try and recharge for next year- we'll see how my body feels.

My season starts in the Fall with the Florida Gold Cup Series. After spending the previous 14 months on a 450 just hating life, I transitioned back to a 250F. Used the Gold Cup Series to get used to the 250F and by the last round I felt like I was doing pretty good, but the most important thing is that I was having fun racing MX again.

Tomorrow I leave for Gatorback and the Mini-O's, I have more fun there than at any other MX event and can't wait to get there. I feel like I am 16 again, well except when I get up and try and move around then reality sets back in..

rode mid pack in the c all year with a high point of finishing 5 overall mid season and went back to mid pack,
half way through the year i moved from a 250f to the 1502t(apparantly two strokes are uncompetative) and went consisently into the top ten and finished the year with a few mid pack finishes in the b.
next year im going for an assault on the b class to crack the top ten.

At age 58, my no-injury season is considered perfect!
I may have raced a bit less than the over-65+ gate drops I did in 09, but I visited new places to race and had a ball.
And...I met raddad!

had a good time as always. i have never gotten wrapped up in series racing. i like to travel to different places and race people i dont know and some i just see a few times a year. i didnt get on a bike till i was 16, very late by todays standards, that was in1974. today, at 52 i have been fortunate enough not to have missed a whole season due to injury, and 1st or 41st i have always had a great time...besides, someone has to be last and i could care less. just want to ride and socialize. well.....gotta go prep, its gonna be a beautiful weekend, jms
