I think so. It might be the same one that gobbles up billions of dollars in aid from us and then uses some of the same money to buy our politicians. It might even be the one where a majority of our politicians went during summer break. They definitely weren’t interested in getting ahead of any of the reasons why they’ve got the govt shut down now. Fuck them all.

You guys must mean those ones right?

But that just couldn’t be!!  If it was those same ones I would have reevaluate my entire world view and would have to question the legitimacy and validity and assumptions I’ve previously held towards the organization of economics, government and society in general! If it really was those same ones, I would then have to question my own existence! and all the things I’ve done and do and wonder if all the things I think I stand for are actually of any value in my now crumbling worldview. That sounds absolutely terrifying! Nope, I’ll just go stick my head back up my own ass thank you very much.

No different than allowing the middle east countries to take all the tech jobs for 50% wages while working in the U.S.  The government has really really dicked so many things up that will take time to structure and correct.  The investment won't run the country it is simply another sector investment.  Oil companies specifically US oil companies are on lock down.  They are not threatened or worried one iota.  They are transitioning to other things, I have a buddy who is in the industry and lives in Midland TX.  Lets just say the boys are "happy"

Socialism, at least the Chinese version, has worked out well for most of it's population.

Yes it just took the forced starvation and execution of 50-65 million citizens to get the ball rolling 😂

I did say most of the population, 50-60 million is small compared to the population of 1.4 billion.

The stupidity of this statement is astounding.

@early, If this is a concern of yours. Then your concern should not be the fact that the modern corporatist state does not discriminate in a fashion that you personally find justifiable and reasonable. If this is a concern of yours, then what you should be concerned with is how the modern corporatist state functions, and act out against that!

Money is money and the modern corporatist state will take it from anyone. America is a business and it will choose to be sold to, or bought by whoever is the highest bidder.

Your feelings, your traditions, your culture, and your history mean nothing. The modern corporatist state has and will continue to sell us down the river just as fast as the check can clear.

That being said, I also find it very concerning. Though I do not think limiting, intervening with, or putting restrictions on a market that is already heavily regulated by government is the way forward in terms of limiting foreign investment.

As it is, our stock market is free for them to invest in. Many foreign countries own many shares of companies considered American.

EDIT* not picking on you here early. Was just using your post as a springboard to broaden the conversation you guys were having to include the systemic factors at play.

While I agree with the sentiment, I see at the same time, no viable alternative to free market capitalism and an accelerating descent into corporate statism with the increasing level of conglomeration and collusion between business and politics.

I don't have a good answer, I would say that we were on a pretty good track until about 15 years ago when citizens united was decided, and the everyone seemingly lost their minds for one reason or another.

Nice 👍

I would just say that the best most pragmatic alternative IS free market capitalism. it is precisely because of this ever increasing level of collusion between business and politics, and continued government intervention in the economy that there is no way we can call this free market capitalism. It’s a closed system where the winners are pretty much chosen.

monopolies have been allowed to take such a strong hold over the economy through the political philosophies like “bigger is better” and “trickle down economics” and ensuing tax breaks and corporate welfare handed out to these corporations that they have been able to in practice, gather an almost complete stranglehold over the economy.
I do agree that the citizens United ruling was a jumping off point that really accelerated this process.

How to get money out of politics when politics is controlled by and achieves it’s power through money?

Is there a way we can revalue money? So that values such as honor and respect can hold more value against the dollar within our society?

Business is incentivized by Government. Always has and always will, the problem is that the government didn’t step in to stop when the time was right and now many corporations are so large they are giving loans to the government while the members are accepting bribes.

Quite remarkable

Somewhat ironic that the day after Mamdummy does his acceptance speech and basically thanks immigrants from everywhere (but not Americans), the German Chancellor is kicking out around 700,000 Syrian asylum refugees that have been there for around a decade.

He said the war in Syria is over, so they no longer have any claim to asylum. Estimated 1 million Syrian refugees came, and 700k still have temporary asylum status.

Oh, and in Germany immigrants (from all Countries) account for 15% of the population, but 40+% of the crime....

The concept of taqiyya (lying or concealing beliefs to protect oneself from harm or for strategic advantage) is commonly interpreted from Quran verse 3:28:

"Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination."

Taqiyya is a legal dispensation in Islamic law that allows believers to disguise or deny their religious identity, or commit acts that would ordinarily be forbidden, when facing imminent danger, persecution, or coercion. The core justification is self-preservation of the individual or the community in a hostile environment.

Many Islamic scholars, such as Ibn Kathir, interpret this to mean that it is permissible to outwardly show friendship to non-believers if one is in fear for their safety, while not compromising one's inner belief.

Show me a country that’s improved by inviting Mamdani people by the hundreds of thoudands, I bet you, you can’t:

What’s the discussion even here about?

Do you really think America will be better if we have few more million Mamdani people? Honestly?

You’d feel safe with your daughter on a train that’s 90% from Mandamu lands?

interesting.

It's not worth entertaining the Luxury Beliefs of this crowd. They'll never be subject to traveling on a train, or any public transit in a city like NY, the side effects are completely out of sight and out of mind to them.

I’ve heard the same about the Talmud…

So post something useful. Not that this thread had anything to do with Israel, but go for it. We get that you hate Israel, but the mindless tongue-in-cheek comments are getting old.

Aw that’s too bad. I didn’t contribute to anything in the Talmud. You’re welcome to go read it for yourself. I’m not fan of Muslims either. I do however like to point out some hypocrisy. You’ve got the same opportunity to glide right on by my posts if they’re too mindless for you Alex.
