Getting geared up to start riding again this spring. I always wore tech 7s but at 33 I think I could use the extra support the tech 10s have in the ankles having injured both of the them in my racing years. Do you still have to size up from your normal street shoe size? I wear an 11/11.5 depending on the shoe. Would it be a better bet to size up to a 12?
Thanks!

I’d probably go try them on in a dealer or a buddy at the track. Alpinestar uses 1 shell for 2 sizes, just different booties. Not sure if it’s 11-12
Gona get lots of opinions. I wear a 9 in my tech10s just like in my vans.
They run true to size.
Tough question. Brilliant Tech 8s which I sorely miss were true to shoe size -- which meant as a 10.5, I could squeeze into a size 10 and have the super snug fit I prefer when riding.
I can barely wear the thinnest socks -- and usually just don't -- to squeeze into Tech 10s. But one size up is too big.
Haven't tried a 7 yet. But think I will next time. Close to half a dozen 10s, didn't love any of them. (And it's a different conversation, but looking back, the fourth strap over the ankle in the 8 was definitely superior to the bootie ankle support of the 10 FMM. YMMV.)

I’m a size 10.5 sneaker, but a size 10 in Tech 10s and Tech 7s. When I wore 7s years ago, they were a little big. I currently have 3 pairs of Tech 10s and they fit just right — best boot that I’ve ever worn. Guys on here will swear by Garnes, but they always felt too clunky and stiff to me. But as they say, there’s a boot for every foot, so try on some different boots on and see what you like.
Definitely try some on because I wear a 11 shoe/work boot and 12 in tech 10s
In a size 10 the 7 is just a tiny bit bigger than the 10. 11/12 tech 10 have the same outer boot.
I wear a size 11 shoe and wore an 11 tech 10. The 10s felt a little snug to me but I like a snug athletic shoe anyway so it worked out.
i wear a size10 in gaerne SG12 and 22 with plenty of room but i need a 12 in the tech10 … i think i just have funny shaped feet though
I go on the sizes ,I wear size 11
I'm still running my Tech 8's from 2002.
That’s great mate
I generally wear 10,10.5 depending on shoe brand and size up to an eleven in tech 10s. Hit up https://www.mxboot.com Sam is a good guy and at the races around our area and on the gate almost every weekend. He takes trade ins as well.
I would size down vs up. A tight fight will eliminate slop in the boot and reduce the chance of wrenching your ankle. I wear a 10.5 - 11 shoe and wear a 10 in mx boots.
I wear a size 13 shoe (Brooks and Nikes), wore a size 13 in gearne, but in tech 10s I wear a 14.
I've had Tech 5s, Tech 8s and Tech 10s. I wear size 10 in all of them, and did not notice a fit difference.
I'm a size 11 and wear the tech 10 in size 11. Good snug fit. I will say, I feel a half size down would be too small though. If you're an 11/11.5 then maybe try an 11, but if you're more so 11.5 I would think a 12 might be the only option. Not ideal not having half sizes, but I wouldn't be able to deal with a boot that is constantly too tight.
I wear size 9 Tech 7 and a Size 10 Tech 10

Tech 7s in size 13 yup! Tech 10s in size 13 NOPE!
I wear size 13 in every other pair of shoes/boots except tech 10s.
I wear 11-11.5 shoes and get my tech tens in size 11, they are perfect, if I went with 12's theyd be too big my guess, or would have to wear no socks.
I miss the Tech 8's.
I wear a 12.5 shoe and the size 12 tech 10 fits perfectly. The 13 was too big.
