It has a few parts but 5k worth of Ti?

Universal Triple Clamps? They are shit and I doubt YOT used them...

I call bullshit... I mean don't get me wrong, it looks like a sweet bike but I don't think it is what they claim it to be.

He contradicts himself when he says it hasn't been ridden since being pulled out of duty in '03. Why the need for a 134 kit if no one was riding it (and an "OW" kit at that!)? Oops!

Bad ass bike, though.

Someone do the math. What does a 2 mm overbore do for a 125? 134cc? Completely legal at the time if memory serves me correct. Old rule left over from the days of boreable cylinders. Don't think they did away with that rule until recently.

back then I remember guys ( not YOT) running 144 's (legally) against the 4 bangers.
in Canada we could run up to 134 cc.

why does the bike not have a frame vin, especially when it didn't originate in Calif. ?

Ama rule book clearly states 125 cc two stroke max. for the lites class when I last checked about a year ago.

Go back a few more years.

And that is one sweet bike. Too nice to go thrash. Which is what I'd want to do! If I hadn't bought that damn Mugen thing.....

AMA Pro Racing had a 125cc limit. The 134cc was legal for amateur racing ONLY in the mod classes.

Hardly works. The only thing works on the bike is the attention to detail and the pipe is cool. Universal clamps are crap crap crap. Suspension is not works.

I figured the YOT bikes would have had oversized radiators or at least had the tanks welded. Look kind of stock in the pics. I do spy a lot of Ti hardware and those sweet ass DSP 57mm Ti pegs like I have on my old YOT/Fonseca semi-replica YZ 250F. They used to have Ti subframes for the 125 too.

sweet attention to detail; but the thing needs to be ridden. my neighborhood has a guy with a CR500 engine stuffed into a (i think) 2003 CR250 frame and the thing is immaculate. But the guy never rides the darn thing. Such a shame and he is going to be selling it also.

that's a stamped pipe that someone put some welds on it to look like a cone pipe.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are those not stock brake rotors and calipers. on a works bike? Either way, I wouldnt want a 03 2 stroke, the suspension updates alone to the 05 models is worth passing on this one.

Quote from the ad about the pipe.

"Note: The FMF pipe pictured is a cone pipe. For clarification, FMF used a Factory Fatty as the base for the pipe, dimensionally the two pipes are different. FMF cuts out the portion of pipe they are not going to use and cones in the new dimensions. If the two pipes were put side by side you could see the difference in dimensions. If you look carefully you will notice the kickstarter comes to rest on the back of the pipe. With a Factory Fatty the kickstarter does not contact the pipe and has clearance at this point. "

i saw that the other night.... serial number removed.... yeah, sure, OW bikes had numbers, ask around ...however, it states its ow cylinder, so maybe but... i do know this.

If you ran a stock cylinder, you were allowed to bore it to .020 over (second bore supposedly), and it made a 125 about 129 to134cc depending on head volume and stroke, the ONLY reason I know this is because in 02 and 03, as the yzf250 was coming on strong, they would take a brand new bike and immediately bore it out as far as the rules allowed and there are several stories of guys needing to "bum" a part for a 125 and noone had it, as in a stock sized piston and noone had one.

OW bikes were special builds, and they were numbered as such. This bike is a production based unit. If it was destined for a race program and not for retail sale it was never designated a vin. Pretty common from what I've heard.

Beautiful bike, and I would ride the hell out of it.....but it's no works bike. The way the guy talks Yamaha is just throwing OW parts out the door. Not the case. This bike is merely a stocker with a bunch of aftermarket parts added.
