What mag were you looking at? TWMX? They show alot of FMX ads, but TWMX is kinda equal with FMX and Racing. As for RacerX, I just opened the lastest issue and this is what it has..

1st ad- Fox- Dungey
2nd- Shift - Josh Grant
3rd- DC - Robbie Maddison
4th- Thor - MC
5th- Thor - Twitch
6th- Astars - Fiolek
7th- One - Logan Darian
8th- One - Carey Hart
9th- Factory Effex - Anstie
10th- KTM - Alessi
11th- Answer - Potter
12th- Bridgestone - James
13th- Pro Taper - Dungey
14th- FMF - Don Elmer

I see landslide advantage to racers. I think you may just be a hater of FMX. I not a big fan, but its ok. Dont DVR it, but I will stop and watch it on Fuel when its on. As long as dirtbikes are involved, its cool with me Smile

If you were the ad rep for RacerX ot TWMX are you going to turn away a few double page spreads a $1xxxx dollars an issue?

Only thing I'm surprised at is nobody has brought out a freestyle only mag yet?.
Freestyle ain't my cup of tea but I guess it has it's hardcore followers.
There were two mags for FMX/freeriding-- Mx Machine that came out early this decade. It had very few riding photos, mostly the riders drinking beer and being bro's. The other Mag was Wide Open Mx Magazine. From what I remember (it was like 15 years ago) it was a great mag with lots of freeriding/ natural terrain photos. I wish that mag was still around but It also came out in FMX's infancy.

Trust me they know exactly what they are doing, marketing people will be the first people to go to hell. They sell cigarettes to kids with cartoons, the camel, those horrible energy drinks, when you go to college the first thing you see is credit card companies promoting their cards to ignorant teenagers who don't realize who they are dealing with and the interest rates. There is a big difference from wanting and needing, but teenagers need to be cool more than they want debt and crappy products etc. Its not til later they find out they don't want that debt and addiction to cigarettes etc. Marketing people trick people into thinking they need something, and the easiest targets are teenagers and kids, just look at that fucking clown selling MCshiz burgers to obese childeren.Angry

I see some points but you have to think back to the late 80s. Rick Johnson and Life's a Beach and the Bad Boy Club. I remember seeing chumps with those Bad Boy Tats back in the day. The Bad Boy Club was the Muisha of the late 80s. It is all about an image except Johnson had a good guy bad boy image. Deegan is the WWF of motocross. I have seen him cry like a baby after getting a little scuff on his shoulder during the early years of his little poser gang. But you have to give it to him, he has marketed himself and made a hell of a lot more $ doing what he does - if he would have stayed ringing MX he would probably be pounding nails right now instead of living the WWF life and his age.

For those who have a Bad Boy tat with a fist throwing teeth grinding image - please show us your ink - we know you are out there!

They still have those ? I though with this interwebby thingy we got going on now books, magazines and such had all been recycled and used to make sandles for the third world.

Unfortunately I believe fmx gets so much more exposure worldwide on tv and in magazines, than supercross and motocross. You turn on Fuel tv and its always fmx.. It is much more popular to the non moto riding public than actual core mx riders.
I believe that is because a typical FMX trick takes 0.732 seconds to execute which is also the length of the average kids attention span these days.

Can you imagine what they'd do if they had to sit through 2 x 45 min + 2 lap moto like we did in the old days with no commercials, facebook, twattering, texting etc etc to distract them ?
