It’s only annoying because it’s not like this was a 1 time thing where he just had a bad day and went down multiple times lol this was a classic RJ moment where he did the thing he’s known for and that’s what makes it so frustrating.
Like genuinely when he was selected this was pretty much what I expected he would do based on his history.
Yea he got a lot of help from guys crashing and penalized riders. Still a great ride but really it’s the Lawrence brothers who got it done.
Lars has mentioned that HRC would run a 3rd 450 for Jo when it comes time for him to move up.
Yes, I was sure that JCoop would put up a single digit in moto 2, maybe a 6 or 7. And if Rick completed the P2 in that moto, there would have been some intrigue going into moto 3.
We still get P2, which was the consensus going in. AUS just wins by more than we like to see.

I think they have JCoop both bad gate picks. He came from outside the top 20 to 10th. He didn’t crash like Webster but they weren’t decent starts.
I’m actually dumbfounded at how horrible of an argument that is.
That american light beer must be stronger than I thought 😁
More sober than anyone else on this website. Apparently I’m just the only one who wants to win and not hand out participation medals because he’s a nice guy who stepped up.
RIIIIIIIIIIGHT🙄
As I said before, RJ‘s seventh contributed to our second place. He did his part to get our best result possible. There was no scenario today where anyone was going to beat team Australia. It just wasn’t going to happen. Now IF we had the team of Tomac, Deegan, Sexton we MIGHT have had a different result, but that is not the team we had this year.
This makes sense.
but let’s agree that going forward, to achieve our best possible result, we need to leave RJ at home.
See?
Absolutely! It’s remarkable how clueless some of these guys are….
I think Sexton, Tomac and Deegan make it close. But that wasn’t an option.
@themx11
Tomac 4 - 2 (6)
RJ 2 - 4 (+6) – this being the best he or any other American could possibly have done
Cooper 10 (+10)
USA with 22 points still loses to Australia's 19.
You'd have to beat Jett and Hunter to win. Sexton has done it a handful of times in dozens of attempts.
Deegan would have needed a 7th, along with RJ or Sexton's hypothetical 2 - 4.
No matter who Team USA sent, Webster would have to DNF to give them the hollow victory.
No scenario anyone beats team Australia? Belgium probably could've done it had Sacha's bike not died and Lucas doesn't crash. Surprised how little buzz there seems to be around Belgium's performance
Belgium are going to be a force to be reckoned with for some time to come. They experienced some typical MXdN bad luck but will be the better for it. There was hardly any Everts talk, he was quietly very good.
Lucas (2 + 10) and Liam (4 + 7) had 23 points between them, without Sacha's scores.
If Sacha went 9 - 9, knocking out Lucas' 10th, then he and Lucas (2 + 9 + 9) have 20 points before you add Liam's 11.
Give Lucas a 2 + 3 (5), Sacha 3 + 4 (7), Liam 3 + 5 (8) and they still have 20 to Australia's 19.
Pit Row
That’s not exactly true. He beat Hunter a lot. Chase for sure does better than RJ. Deegan healthy beats JCoop. It was definitely do-able.
Nope. Belgium wasn’t going to either…and didn’t. Team Aussie is top dog currently.
Chase in MXGP 2-2. Eli in Open 2-3. Then Deegan just needs 9th.
It’s actually against current law to use the name Chase Sexton and the phrase “for sure” in the same sentence when predicting race results.
RC is out in his sprinter van replacing transmissions for Triumph during the week so its hard to get any seat time.
So did the US. If the Coenen bros stayed up the USA team probably wouldn’t be on the podium.
And we do did Deegans talent on USA. No question there.
Eli is our top rider currently and I believe he has a few years left at this level.
If you’re going with hypotheticals, then Webster doesn’t crash either race and finishes higher and we score way less than 19.
See Australia only needs one different result while the US needs to change the whole team and results, probably easier to just accept it wasn’t going to happen this year. Best team won.
Have you seen Deegan race? He would have a chance of winning a moto outright. On a 250.
I was hoping to see him vs The Lawrence brothers.
😆😂🤣
Sucks we'll no longer get to see Chase race this event in his prime.
It would not surprise if Deegan won a moto.
There are a lot of skilled racers out there from different countries.
Farbve did pretty good riding Prados machine!
Didnt he finish #4?
