Why? Give me one good reason to start this race. The riders themselves stated it was a good decision when David Luongo talked to them. The track is flooded, only the start straight could be worked on. Safety first.

Slow down, ride the mid, it's part of MX

Okay, you go and tell Febvre, Coenen, Herlings and Gajser how they have to race a track properly then. There's no such thing as "slow down". If they race, they race.

So the fans' moneyspending is priority over the riders' safety? Especially in the final race of the season when everything is decided already? Sheesh, have you ever lifted a leg over a bike yourself? I've been to multiple GP's and have seen cancelled races myself (Faenza 2009 for example). It's part of the scene. Rains, storms, blistering heat. Suck it up dude.

Raced heaps and heaps and heaps.

And in the mud, for a plastic trophy for fans that got in for free.

That's why they're called fans. They come back no matter what, regardless if races get cancelled or postponed. They know it's possible, as the weather can decide the outcome of the weekend.

If the title was still on the line, you can bet the race would've started. But now there was no use in putting the riders at risk. Or getting the mechanics some more overtime to get the bikes cleaned and shipped to the US tomorrow.

Absolute rott, run the races regardless of anything other than lightning which is a risk to spectators and racers

Well that was eventful.

Both Längenfelder and Febvre deserved it.

Hats off to the crew that put on this race, very impressive by all accounts.
Being scheduled in the build up season may need to be looked at though. Damn shame that storm ended what looked like a great day.
Langenfeider and Febvre are worthy champions. Stoked on Romain getting another one.

I knew its gonna be drama, but not like this holy shit. I wasnt watching it live but instead looked up the VODs. They had the thumbnail of the 2nd moto with längenfelder showing way down the order. So I was already thinking its over before I watched it. Little did I know... WOW. Congrats Simon! Well deserved! Last time a German won MX2 was 14 years ago. It was Ken Roczen.

who had thought we would of had a cancellation in Aus, but what an ending

both champions deserved it imo, and to the others, thanks for making it an interesting season.

look forward to next years

Looked like a great turn out, I wouldnt mind knowing the spectators numbers,

Might even head up next year for it.

Interesting take:

In the second half of the season, Febvre only won 2 GP's. Coenen and Herlings both won 4. Over the entire season, Coenen won 6 GP's, Febvre and Herlings won 5, Gajser won 3 and Renaux won 1.

In MX2, De Wolf won 7 GP's, Längenfelder won 6, Adamo won 4, Coenen won 2, Everts won 1.

In WMX, Fontanesi won 3 GP's, Guillén 2 and Van Drunen only 1.

So in all three worldtitle classes, the champions didn't win the most. Tells how important consistensy really is.

How was the track in the riders opinion? Better than typical Australia national circuits?

So just as I thought THAT WAS AWESOME! Don't care what anyone says that was one of the best weekends ever. It was such a good turnout. The track was actually very good and led to some great racing, the viewing was good in most area for spectators so that was nice. It was very hot, but they had a lot of shade around, lots of free water and some big fans all over. Everyone you spoke to was having a great time and loved it. The were a few things they can improve on but hey this was basically a tester and I'm sure it will be better for the few years to come. All in all, it was a very successful event and a great weekend.

Got to meetup with Paul Malin and he truly is such a cool person, he is even funnier off air as well haha. He is so awesome that he got me and my parents an invite to the MXGP award show! That was an unreal experience getting to mingle with the riders and teams and being around all the celebrations.

All I can say is that I lost all my respect to Kay de Wolf.

He rides like idiot, tried many times push to kill Längenfelder and his bike expired. Thats KARMA Kay... (Deeg already knows it too)

I dont like orange colour, but MX2 title is in right hands right now. Well deserved ride all year Simon Längenfelder.👍
