Vegas SMX

Anyone else going?

Flying out there Friday. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid watching McGrath/RC/Stew, to go to the season finale of SX back then, this is a tad different yet, the same. Titles on the line, big money on the line. Just stoked for it, man.

I’ll be there in the camping area. Wonder if we could get the two guys from the charlotte post to meet in Vegas.

Decided on driving down from Southern Utah on Saturday morning and driving home that night 😆 just couldn’t accept the price gouging from the hotels…

Really? I thought Vegas hotels were cheap right now since they are hemorrhaging visitors.

This is without looking l, I heard they are really pricing out visitors. Since they are getting less from gambling they are charging more for hotels, parking, restaurants, etc…

I stopped through in the spring and thought the price of “average” stuff in Vegas was higher than usual. It was also absolutely a ghost town. Might not have helped it was Easter either.

To be fair I waited too long to book but having been to Vegas in the past it definitely wasn’t any cheaper than when I’ve been in the past.

I wish I physically lived closer it would be sick to camp there, my buddy had his toy hauler/camper last year we stayed in here locally at the TX SMX round. Now I have my own, but of course they took TX off the schedule. 😂

Wife and I were going but our lowest milage car (210,000 miles) out of three vehicles died last weekend so were driving to Phoenix to pick up a new pickup and will spend the weekend in Havasu watching on Peacock.

Side note, speaking of price gouging. Going to Phoenix saves me $10k on a new Silverado over local San Diego dealers & they don't care. One even said "enjoy your drive" lol, what a dick. Actually that guy was really cool, his sales manager wouldn't budge.

Buy a 1/10 of an acre in Dateland AZ to register your new truck. After buying the property you’ll still be saving money with $10k you already saved.

Sorry for hijacking, we already have a place in Havasu where we have everything registered. AZ DMV staff said first year new vehicle registration is higher in AZ than CA, $966 AZ vs $940 CA with this purchase but drops 15% per year compared to CA.

Example, my 02 F250 registration was $399 per year in CA, its $85 for 5 years in AZ.

Anyway, those who are going to Vegas, enjoy the show.

I went to Vegas a month ago for a concert.  Hotels were outrageously expensive.  $400 was the cheapest, with an average closer to $700.  Granted, this was for a Saturday night only

It’s like that most places these days. Post Covid they really jacked up the rates and everyone paid because they wanted to travel and people had money to blow. Now it’s slowing and things haven’t gotten any cheaper.

Started a new insta that I’ll have a bunch posted on its story.

It is FOUR4THREEmedia

Also anyone coming I may have an extra Friday pass for the “party” and free drinks. If anyone is interested shoot me a dm in the morning. Best way to get ahold of me would also be instagram.

Did you look at the cost to register it in Ca.?  If I remember correctly it cost way more than I thought back in 2017.  $1700 in fees is what comes to mind when switching it from La to Ca and it was a 7 year old vehicle.

I mean, I get wanting to save a buck, but state mv registration fees go towards maintaining the roads, among other related things. Paying to help take care of the place you live makes sense, right?

Not in Kalifornia.  They divert tax revenue to all sorts of unrelated BS.

Live in Cali and your opinion will greatly change. But I do understand where you are coming from.

I lived there for 20 years. I know what I’m talking about. Some of the greatest roads in the country.

Agree to disagree. Little more to it than just the roads but we won’t go there on a moto discussion.

rain should be starting in the nellis area around 1630-1730… .25in in less than an hour is not ideal!

Was there earlier and even went over to the road course and watched “The Baggers” practicing…INSANE!

On the way back to the hotel it rained a bit…but, that’s all supposed to end real quick.

The folks at Nellis were busy over-head all day…

Yeah the jets every year here are bad ass. They do get a little annoying when they do a flyover 8am super low and shake the rv and the dogs lose it. Can’t wait to see if they do anything new for opening ceremonies this year. Last year how they came from behind the bleachers and you couldn’t see them or hear them until they passed over was bad ass

We damn near didn’t make it off the runway in Dallas. Air Traffic control went down, we got stuck there and realistically fucked my chances to go to press day😭😭😭 kinda sucks but still stoked for tomorrow.
