Did everyone see that interview with kenny about the e start on the rmz? Looks like suzuki may be working on it.. Kenny talked to Lewis about it on a interview.
Old news, if same one. And it’s not Suzuki it’s aftermarket. But I didn’t see current interview so maybe a different one.
This was bought up at the Pulpmx live show on friday. Sounds like Chizz has been doing some testing on it.
Recent interview from st.louis. Smx.
They’ve had the e-start for a while. Roczen even posted it on his bike once maybe like a year ago. Brooks on a pulp interview basically said like “yeah we got it but we aren’t sure if it’s worth the risk since the bike works pretty good as it is now” I think it’s a top end off of a different bike that they have to fuck with really hard to get it to work they way they want it to.

How much weight will the e-start add to the RMZ. Thing is already a pig.
They have been testing it for a while but no, that's not how they're doing it. That's just Instagram builds using an RMX head and whatnot. They're testing an aftermarket E-start which adds weight and changes the engine/chassis characteristics a little bit. Roczen chose to stick with the kickstart over that option for 2025 even though when he originally signed with HEP it was based on them getting him an E-start.
To me it sounded like they were doing different testing (chassis/suspension related).
I believe that if Suzuki would just add e-start and leave as much the same as they can (to save money), they would 4x their sales. I just don't get why they haven't.
What's the motivation of KR to add an e start and the extra weight? He's much more a contender for race wins and not the title these days if we're honest. Getting going quickly after a stall or crash is less important than all out performance, in his case.
I'm a Suzuki guy and love the current RMZ platform, but I don't believe that would happen. They throw an E-start on it the guys not riding them now will still complain that the bike hasn't been updated and that it's too heavy still.
It might bring a few of the Suzuki guys back, but I don't see sales quadrupling just because of E-start. Maybe doubling, but not more than that.
I remember when Kenny first went to Honda in ..17? He had the option of E start or Kick. He went with Kick because he didn't like the added the ring gear inertia (weight), because it changed the feel of the motor. Not to his liking. If they're testing, that may be something they're working out. I'm sure there's lot less parts in the Suzuki bin as opposed to HRC Honda.
“What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this fourm is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
As a Suzuki Fan Boy it's sad to say, sales numbers are so low that it might not be that hard to reach that lol
Just a matter of time for guys like you and me.....

Is that why Kenny didn't win, his mechanic's leg was tired from starting the bike a couple times during the day?
Didn’t the rmx 450 have electric start at one time? Around 2014 or so? For some reason it seems like I remember Suzuki offering a enduro/offroad model of the rmz with electric start.
Suzuki DRZ400 has had E-start for atleast 25 years
RMX had electric start. I would love to find one of those for a dez bike.
That’s what I thought just couldn’t remember. Now I’m wondering if those cases are still available and just what all was different from the rmz cases besides the obvious. Hmmm

I AGREE. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? IM UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT ALL MODERN EFI EQUIPPED FOUR STROKES ARE VERY EASY TO START ITS NOT LIKE 2005 WHEN THEY ALL HAD CARBS AND YOU WOILD GO DOWN AT LEST 1 LAP IF YOU STALLED A FOUR STROKE.
Yes...I have a 2017,,E start stock
Suzuki made them until 2019 in America
