Does anyone remember the 125 that Motocross Action built around 91 or 92? They ran a short piece about Joel Robert having a 134 lb works 125, so they set out to build a brand new 125 that weighed the same... it was soooo super trick and had stuff like carbonfiber plastics and all kinds of neat little goodies. Anyone have a picture of it?
MXA, facts? eh

Maybe it was about this (Terry Good scores again):

It was Dirt Bike that did an article on that CR. Check out the man giving it some too!

I uploaded it onto the 90s forum on MXTrax a while ago, have a look.

I'm a Kawi guy through and through, but if Newman's bike or that 167lb lightweight ever came up for sale there is garge space waiting here in Scotland!

Sorry for the thread hijack Newman, but thought these images were relevant to the above post.

DeCoster catching some air

Dirt Bike used to be such a cool magazine before Tom Webb turned it into trail bike monthly, used to feature some really special moto scooters

That bike was purchased by friend of mine who grew up racing D34 in the early 80's.

He is a property developer in the CT/NY area and used to buy trick bikes every few years.

But he never really rode any of them once he stopped racing in 87 or something. He would usually just ride 1-2 times on whatever his latest purchase was.

If my memory is correct, he bought that bike direct from On The Line after seeing the article in one of the mags. He rode it 2-3 times or something, then away it sat, along with the YZ 167, the YZ400, the shifter carts, the jet skis, the Porshe, and a god knows whatever else he would buy. I think he just liked having the stuff in his garage, but who wouldnt? I knew another guy in the same town who had a (1989 or 1990) CR250 with those crazy aluminum air vents, which i think was another On The Line bike as well... That thing was way trick looking.

If not mistaken, mine was restored alongside that one about ten or so years ago. That one was featured in VMX Magazine back in 2003. Georgeous bikes.

Since someone else dug this thread up... Newmann, I've long wondered what came of this bike?

Just up and down the street a bit. She does rip quite well and I am wanting to get it to the track someday soon.

Just cleaned up a few things and put on a new pipe and air filter. Going to leave it alone until I get some ride time in on it. If I like it and think it's a keeper, it will get a proper detailing.

Hey Newman,

If you do decide to move it on, my offer still stands, would love that to restore and race here in Scotland.

Terry Good, the works bike collector in Ohio started up 911 Race Shop and On The Line Racing. Imported a lot of trick alloy (VHM??) frames, swingarms, tanks, subframes from Italy I believe. Also imported lots of ti hardware, Mugen products and Technosel seat covers and graphics. Ty Davis rode for them back then.
