Well, I spent a few hours with DV's last team manager yesterday and he did tell me that DV's practise bikes always came back to him in "amazing, pristine state".

DV's dad and long time coach is known for how picky he is on equipement, preparing, maintaining, etc.

DV definitely comes from an environment/family where respect for pieces of machinery such as an MX bike is very high.

Hence, I imagine (not talked to him), the shock when he got returned a dirty bike in a crate. I'm sure he felt about this very personally, although, obviously, it's not a big deal.

Should he have twitted about it that way ? Of course not, considering the extension of the damage it created (in all directions).

Was he aware of the details of what was (or was'nt) sent to Matt to maintain his practise bike under the supervision of his predecessor team manager, or the bonuses that were or were not paid at the time ? I doubt it and it was none of his business (until he twitted that comment).

All in all, I'm sure DV's reaction had everything to do with principles and not much to do with actual facts.

"DV's practise bikes always came back to him in "amazing, pristine state". .. The guys from Yamaha told me the total opposite. That his practice bikes were p.o.s. when they got them back.

Can't tell about Yamaha.
Stephane, from Bud Racing, DV's last team, told me that yesterday.

Well welcome to upper management Davey. Now when you bitch about some thing out loud that had nothing to do with you as new management.(Unless you are going to take care of said rider.) Take care of old management dudies quietly. And focus on tweeten the good things you are doing as management not the old managers crap you deal with.
Pro practice bike that gets no parts LOL

I believe it`s not about what`s bent or broken, it`s about simple cleanliness and respect for equipment.

What about the team's respect for its riders?

Works both ways.

Exactly.

This isn't so cut and dry. There's more to this than what DV posted on twitter. If Matt wasn't getting paid or receiving a parts allowance, etc., then WTF?

For me personally, if it were me I would fully expect the practice bikes to come back looking a little ragged.

Well, I was there for three years and I would not have said that. His bikes were always in great shape and with lots of hours on them.

Double edge sword. If they bikes are in great shape, the riders aren't practicing enough. If they are beat, the riders don't respect the equipment. If I was team manager I'd want the bike rode a lot!

DV told me he was going to dress up like Pepe Le Pew for Halloween, and when people asked him who he was suppose to be, he was going to answer "Goerke's Practice Bike".

What do you know, you only worked there. Never question the insight and knowledge of the average vital poster. That's how they are able to provide such insightful commentary on one short twitter post.

DV was the man, but his twitter was a busch league bitch move... Twitter? Are you f-in kidding me? Then his wife has to Twitter to him that it's going to be ok? Sounds like drama queens that really miss the spotlight. Lead by example, my man, and that doesn't include twitter. Oh yeah, pay Goerke his money!!!!!!

it doesn't take a whole lot to treat equipment like you own it regardless of who owns it.

motocross has always been like the ole west...yer horse is like yer life so you treat it accordingly. matt should be ashamed

If my sponsor doesn't pay me and won't send me parts for my bike, they are getting it back the way it looked after the last time I rode it. And I'd wait for a mud day before I crated it.

You guys forgetting the post that Matt's mom wrote?
