For what it’s worth, the consumer version looks like this.
The "dents" are placed for side panel inserts that press against the exhaust. You don't see them when installed. Their system is extremely fitted to maximize the space available on the CRF450R. Rivets are basically in the same place they are on a PC or FMF system...
I understand why some of it looks the way it does (dents), but man! I didn't realize that was the HRC Factory version, the retail version looks 20% better.
I am a Yosh consumer, and they do make some beautiful products!

Saw this as I was doom scrolling Instagram and thought of this thread. I don't know how you could look at this and think it looks like shit.
Well, I cringed when I saw the advert too. While those "dents" and such are necessary for fitment, manufacturability, etc., they do make the product look rather ugly when it's presented by itself. They're not visible when installed, so why put them front and center on the advertisement? Had they run an image like the one above with the pipe installed on the Honda, this thread likely wouldn't exist. It just looks WAY better when installed.

My point has nothing to do with function or fashion, it's about presentation. If the advert had the exact same pipe pictured installed rather than on its own, this topic would never have come up.
They all look stupid compared to this:
you’re a dork if you buy that exhaust and actually run it on your bike plain and simple. If it’s for a garage queen/display bike fine. I can’t imagine they sell very many of these.

Exactly, marketing 101. Those dents draw your eyes to it in the photo and make the welded bend look worse than it is. Not yoshi's best ad.
