Man the MX2 championship is completely open again! Excited to see how this is going till the very end. Simon has been mister concistency but the first cracks starting to develop under pressure.

I expect it to going to be between de Wolf and Adamo, but who knows Simon can regroup and rail in the title!?

Then he'll really have to improve his starts. They're definitely not waiting for Wolf in MX1. On Saturday, he ran into problems due to a poor start; otherwise, the difference would have been only 8 points.

You have to admit. Sand races always deliver the goods. If it isn’t for p1 it’s for all the other spots that you see battles. No slot car racing. Lots of passing opportunities. We were there yesterday, in Sweden and Lommel and the atmosphere was amazing at all of those races. The riders will have to adapt in the next 3 GP’s to the complete silence.

Last 3 GP are gonna be wild! 3 week-ends in a row, from Turkey to China to Australia, with the jet lag, the heat and the humidity. They have a very hard end to the serie.

Two of the 3 remaining tracks are hard pack. Australia won't be deep sand, if at all. Simon has this.

I think so to. Start crashes can always mess things up but if all riders make it through top 5 he should have it.

I think he’s pretty strong on the mental side this year.
De Wolf got in shape right on time and might have an edge on Langenfelder.

Could be, but he has to gain ground on two riders instead of one. He has to gain an average of 13 points per GP on Längenfelder, and I don't see that happen. Längenfelder just had a bit of bad luck at Arnhem. The broken wheel on Saturday messed up his entire weekend. Losing points on De Wolf on a sand track is evident and was calculated, believe me. Maybe not that much, that's all.

For me, Simon is still the favourite to take the title. Turkey should suit him more as De Wolf.

Also extra note, there won’t be much riders at the gate on those rounds.

Possibly, but I have learn to never bett against Jett😅

After watching Arnhem, I'll say that even though Lucas Coenen and Jeffrey Herlings are still amazingly fast, I'm starting to think of De Wolf as the fastest euro sand rider right now. His technique is so perfect.

I could watch De Wolf race in sand all day (as long as the beer didn’t run out). He really is the new Herlings in that respect. But I also thought he’d win MX2 easily this year, man that’s a tough class.

No I don’t think so, Herlings and Coenen are still a few % above de Wolf in my opinion.

I would like to add that I don’t think De Wolf is at the same level as Herlings when he was riding MX2, he nearly lapped the field at an incredibly rough Leirop. I haven’t seen anyone get close that that feat again. Plus Herlings put a minute into Cairoli at Lommel in 2018 before falling on the last lap.

You can see that many MX2 guys have obviously been taking the sand riding seriously and practicing it, Adamo and McLelan especially seem to have worked at this particular skill, De Wolf is something to behold though and definitely looks similar to Herlings at his best, but I'm not sure we will see the likes of Herlings premium sand riding skills again.

I was at Lommel this year and you are correct CPR, as long as the Jupiler is flowing I'd also watch him all day.

Honestly those times are incomparable. Herlings has been a pioneer in our sport, a generational talent and have had, until this day, unmatched drive and work ethic. This made Herlings a unique athlete and he was way ahead of his time compared to his direct competition.

I dare to say the level today both in the US and Europe is significantly higher compared with the era you are referring to and everything around the sport got more professional. For that reason I don't think you can compare it with each other.
