I know they’ve been out in the wild for a bit now, anyone here go from a ‘23-‘25 to a ‘26?
I’m mostly curious about power delivery. I am going from Kawi to Yamaha for a more exciting engine and KYB, but I’m curious if the Yamaha has been mellowed out in ways to meet sound requirements. From Yamaha’s description in the PR, it seems they may have.
Also curious on chassis between the two. Sounds like they aimed to make it a bit more forgiving, curious if y’all are feeling that on the track.
Thanks for any feedback.

There are some vids on YouTube. Doesn’t sound like it lost that much snap.
I am looking for the same feedback. I am torn between the new YZ450, the triumph or the Ducati.
Curious as well.
Any word on if they will get hit with tarrifs?

Stay away from both the Triumph and Ducati if you want to focus on riding and racing.
Way to many issues with Triumph, and Ducati is unproven. Still struggling with setup and looking to change things to get it suitable for all conditions (linkage as it sounds?).
If you have no problem waiting for bike in workshop or at home or going home premature from riding its probably fine, some done care about that.
The 26 yamaha lost some of the mid hit but still has good bottom because of the change from the 49 to 51 rear sprocket. I do feel like the chassis is more forgiving or soft compared to the 24/25 with the FCP mounts. The tracks i rode it on were smaller backyard tracs so Im not sue if its more stable or not compared to previous models.
Note: if you change the airbox and exhaust to the 25 components then the motor feels the same as the 25.
Yes, tariffs increase. Keefer with his buddy walk around video, purchased one in CA. I can't remember, but it was somewhere around 1,600 -1800 more for a 26 YZ450. Approximate 12,600 OTD.
been waiting for someone to chime in as they are available for a few weeks now.
I got impatient. I’m in Utah for work, saw a dealership had one, didn’t tack on too many fees, so I rented a truck and went and snagged it. $11,289 plus tax. $10,299 MSRP, $695 destination. $295 set up. No tariffs or doc fee.

Quietest motocross bike I’ve ever heard, sounds like a XR100. Have a pipe on the way, and will be shipping suspension off to Enzo before I ride it.
Will report back in a few weeks.
The 26 looks like it has some solid upgrades. I just picked up a couple 2025's for customers and they were right at $2400.00 less than a 26. I am excited to hear feedback on the 26, I think the refinements are going to keep it at the top of the stack.
I definitely hear you on the new bike itch. The only downside I heard about on the Desmo was the linkage is very aggressive and it pushes in flat corners, etc. That's coming from our local Factory Connection guys that were working with AC and the GP guys over the pond. FC has a fix for the linkage in production. Curious what the outcome of that will be. Yamaha is certainly a safe bet especially if they made the chassis more compliant and gave us the opportunity to tame down the beast with mapping.
Seems like the pipe and airbox are so choked up they had to gear it down two teeth to work right?
Even more curious if the frame changes added back some stability.
I am curious about doing this upgrade as well, anxiously awaiting more reports.
I have a muffler coming, but FMF informed me the header is still in development with no ETA. Bummer because it seems the chamber in the header really chokes it up.
I’m curious if a ‘25 air box fits. I need to do more research on what they changed to know where I should start.
I’m really curious on the frame as well. Can’t wait to get my suspension back and ride this thing.
If they keep messing and choking bikes up, then Suzuki might start winning shootouts in the next 5 years at this rate.
