Oh I have definitely caught Grok making errors but that just makes it seem more human.
I debated ChatGPT about relativity/gravity and eventual the AI apologized to me and said I was right.
Another side track... I haven't watched a movie in many years but I downloaded and watched Oppenheimer last night for the first time. I didn't really care for it. I see it is marked over 8 on IMDB but I would mark it about a 4 personally. But based on the title of the movie I shouldn't probably have expected anything more than what it was.
I would rather have seen a movie less about one man and more about the overall project, the mechanics of it, the physical consequences, etc. I would have loved to see more on the delivery (Col Tibbets and the Enola Gay, the support aircraft, etc), more of the devastation on the ground in Japan and how it effected the Japanese people from their perspective etc. Again, I shouldn't probably have expected any of that just based on the name of the movie but I was still disappointed. I guess I was hoping for a movie that would have been called "The Bomb".
That's probably why I don't normally watch movies. I get WAY more satisfaction and entertainment listening to Feynman talk about his actual experiences in a YouTube video of a lecture of his, rather than poor dramatizations.
If you don’t watch anything else you need to watch Dumb and Dumber, Mean Girls, Superstar, and Night at the Roxbury. Classics

You might like Veritasium on YouTube. He goes into a lot of behind the scenes/story of various things. Like invention of the blue LED, lithium batteries, etc. But also a decent amount of the math and science that go along with it. I really like the approach.
Two others I really like that are more math oriented are numberphile, which is a bit more focused on advanced math concepts and stand up maths, which explores the math behind sometimes silly ideas and is more of an entertainment channel.
Okay, I give up: what is FSM?
I am subscribed although I don't particularly care for the new guy.
Well, it’s the argument that particles just randomly came together and made something. It’s the obvious lie that a certain group came up with. Duh
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster
So, have you worked with FSMs? In what capacity?
When you say "randomly came together and made something" I assume you mean they came together and made a god? A god that then went ahead and made other particles randomly come together to make a universe? I don't see a need for that intermediary step because I would think it would be way more likely for particles to randomly come together and make a universe than a god.
I once had a girlfriend hurl a bowl of spaghetti at me. Is that in any way related?
I think what he meant was Finite State Mathematics. But we don’t know, since their was talk about space bacteria, and how that relates to the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Tonight's installment of Feynman.
Yes , especially if she hit you!😳
Pit Row
Feynman talks about flying saucers.
Derek must have been reading this thread based on the video he just put up on rubber. Feynman talked about rubber bands in a couple of the videos I posted earlier. Derek even put in the Feynman rubber band clip.
They're always listening 😛😛😛
Richard never did make it to Tuva.
This is a pretty good one.
I was thinking about this thread as I was watching the Starship coverage. The bible is the basis for a few of the major religions and in the bible there are many "miracles" that are supposed to be some sort of proof to sway people to a supreme being. Why are all the miracles in the bible so lame, nothing more than simple party tricks? If the creator was powerful enough to create our entire universe, including us, he certainly had the power to create any type of miracle.
If I was a god the creator, instead of creating something as lame as a burning bush, I would have made a SpaceX Starship appear out of thin air, load a bunch of those folks up and take them on a ride around Mars. I would also have created a Polaroid camera and had someone take pictures of it all. Someone that powerful would probably have been able to make Starship actually work. Not to mention all this technology that WE created over the last 50 years will be looked back on 50 years from now and seen as lame technology and people will laugh and laugh and laugh.
The "burning bush" story from the Bible is a allegory for the presence of God's divine, unconsumed power, a symbol of divine revelation and calling, and a metaphor for resilience in the face of overwhelming challenges. In the allegory, a bush that is ablaze but remains unburnt symbolizes God's eternal and self-sustaining nature, demonstrating that His presence can dwell within created things—like the people of Israel—without destroying them.
Okay, maybe bad example but take any other miracle mentioned and my question is the same:

The Miracles of Jesus are often seen as both actual events and symbolic, or allegorical, representations of spiritual truth, showing God's power and Jesus's divine nature while serving as "living parables" that convey lessons about the Kingdom of God and salvation. For example, healing the blind can symbolize helping people understand spiritual truth, while casting out demons may represent liberation from spiritual or even tyrannical rule.
The miracles are interpreted as living parables that embody spiritual truths in the form of actions and wonders.
A miracle like healing the blind is seen as helping people "see the light" and understand spiritual truths.
The resurrection of the dead is viewed as a symbol of Jesus's own coming resurrection and a sign of his power over death.
Casting out demons is interpreted as a symbolic representation of breaking free from oppressive forces, such as tyrannical political rule.
The miracles demonstrate the divine power of God through Jesus Christ, affirming his authority and the reality of God's kingdom on Earth.
Jesus's empathy and compassion led him to use his divine power to help people and show God's care for humanity's well-being.
The miracles are seen by some as fulfilling ancient prophecies and serving as signs that the age of salvation has arrived.
Many scholars now view the miracles not as later embellishments, but as an integral part of the Jesus story and a testament to the salvation age.
Some approaches focus on the symbolic meaning of the miracles, while others emphasize their literal reality as physical events that have spiritual implications.
The Miracles of Jesus are often seen as both actual events and .........
