What shits me is that this gets all the media, While the Australian Junior Motocross Championships last weekend gets nothing.

Haters? or concerned parents? I love moto to the core but once you have kids you look at things a bit differently. There is no way in hell I would let my kid who has absolutely no concept of risk , risk his little life. There are some pretty dumb people on the planet.

From my experience racing, the parents who never rode or raced, encouraged their kids to go faster and bigger at young ages than those of us that have first hand experience with risk and danger.

Anyone that defends the parents of this kid either doesn't have kids or are just plane morons. That's JMO of course but you don't encourage your 6 yr old to jump ramps built for big bikes and for riders with more riding experience than this kid has years alive. Don't get me wrong I'm all for letting your kid race MX (as i've been doing since i was 3 yrs old) but this is just an asinine parent willing to risk his child's life for a little attention. It would be one thing if the kid was old enough to thinjk for himself but 6 is way to young. I would never let this happen.

Jasyn's Mum looks like an overweight Ricky Carmichael without the freckles.

I have two young boys and would personally not let them try that. The reason is something I learned long ago watching kids race. Kids usually have little to no realistic concept of what serious injury or death is. This also seems to be why if somebody is going to be great in a dangerous sport, they start at a very young age.

the strangest thing is the motorhome is probably making it safer at least it's not as far to fall (as retarded as that sounds)

I had a dad call me the other day asking which cobras to buy his 3 year old......yes 3. He said he needed two, one for practice one for racing........... he was pissed......can't race til 4......

WOW!!! Just goes to show if an Aussie kid outdoes a Yank kid we get slammed! If this was Mike Metzgers kid would he of got so much hate...I think not. A few facts for you illinformed Americans.......Jasyn had done ALOT of smaller jumps before we started to increase the gap, even when it got to 45ft he had done 100's of them with only minor falls( like slipping down the down ramp) This was the only time he EVER stacked "badly", and like the comment on the clip said, He got up dusted himself off and corrected it. He is a super smart child and knew the risks and his brothers have been hurt alot worse doing MX...he knows about pain. His Dad is not a pushy Dad or a redneck, money hungry dochebag as you have refered to. What you didn't see in the footage was my husband running to get Jay after the fall and making sure he was alright, telling Jay he wasn't doing it anymore jumps. After much insistane we let he do it again....we know his skills. After seeing his footage Crustys called us not the other way round so we were NOT doing it for money or fame....you never see my husband in any news shows at all. To be perfectly honest we didn't make any money out of the whole thing and caused us alot more stress and expense then anything else, including stupid hero forums like this one...only content to drag people down. Jasyn biggest jump was 160ft...he then stopped jumping to concentrate on the MX season...which in his first year finished 3rd in the state...Personally I would much rather he do that then the jumps but if he wants to go back to them...I will not stand in his way....I'll let all you do gooders do it for me!
