Motocross is different than supercross and he’s coming back from injury.

he’ll get it figured out.

it was his first ever national, and i think most of us that expected more should remember that,

Obviously not in race shape yet, still getting back up to speed after injury, not great but no big deal.

He’ll be fine, I honestly thought top 15s today would’ve been in his cards. Even after the sx season he had, I thought he’d be top 10 or top 12 outdoors. He reminds of Fonseca and not just because of the 100 on a Yamaha. He’s super smooth and precise, and the hanging it out outdoors style might take a little longer for him. No panic button, he’ll be ripping at SMX.

There was another kid with factory Husqvarna support that didn’t even qualify. Cole had a pretty bad injury. He will be fine. He is getting back into the thick of things.

We saw how mature and well he carried himself in SX, why was anyone expecting him to not be like that fo his return?  Come back, get your feet wet, stay healthy, and build for next year where he very well could be a SX title contender.  He’s too smart to try to come back and set the world on fire and get hurt again.

He is just there to get gates drop and have his feeling back, I don't think there was a real expectation on him today. He'll be right there next year.

Ehh, it's not like he faded from the front. His starts were really bad and he stayed around where he started. I think he briefly moved up into the points before going back. First national ever, I'd give him a few more before panicking.

Two supercross wins in rookie season. Bad injury and didn't score points in comeback outdoors.... not a problem. He will be ok.

What national number was it for Thrasher? You win a SX or 2 a year for Bobby and he’ll keep you around hahaha

Oh I'm not in the camp that Davies isn't worthy of his ride. He's going to be a SX champ. I'm just of the opinion outdoors he has a climb ahead of him similar to the JuJu variety.

I was really impressed with Dudney today and he deserves heaps of praise more than Cole deserves shame.

Gotcha. I believe he’s going to have a climb outdoors too and even if he didn’t miss a beat from sx, I still wouldn’t have been surprised to see him go 11-11 at pala. Dudney was super solid, we’ll probably see him racing sx next year too. Bummer for Gibson not making the motos, Temmerman raced a few and had some 12ths I believe.

I’m wondering if he isn’t a little gun-shy from how freak his crash was. Getting landed on would definitely make me hesitate a bit for a race or two.

I would not be surprised if the team simply told him to ride easy. First national; go out there and gain some experience. Ride loose and stay healthy.

If the SMX Finals roll around and he's still getting smoked, I'll start to worry.

Could be that Cole will be the next Webb, or McGrath. Maybe he wins championships in SX, and rides a few MX races to score some extra SMX points. My opinion is that he will be a fine outdoor rider soon enough.

I feel like you must be doing something right if you already have “haters” on your rookie debut off an injury. I think he’ll be just fine.

Not surprising, Adams was way better outdoors and barely makes top ten.    I'll hold judgement until I see a full season from him. He improved a lot in sx since futures.

Results-wise, Cole did better.  But, Haiden was running top 10 in the first moto until his rear brake went out.  He also crashed in both motos, so I guess how you define "better" matters. Cole will be good, but there was talk about him being top 5 in his pro debut, and possibly better which is what LungButter is mocking.

Don't expect the low IQ vital crowd to understand that though. They two dum.

Debut after a pretty big injury, end of the season with absolutely nothing to gain, just get some gate drops and get used to getting back into that race pace. No need to even consider the panic button, save it for next season.

So far yup. Better rookie SX season.

Since RJ ain’t racing he might be good for top 20 for SMX if not he’s right on the cusp and needs to show up this weekend. Lux turner and Schwartz have been riding great.

Haiden finished 2nd overall in his rookie sx season, and Cole finished 3rd overall.

Guess it depends on what you define as success. How many races did Deegan win? We all know Cole would have finished 2nd if Smith doesn't land on him... But yeah if you think Deegan had a better SX rookie season you do you
