It’s not as great as you’d think actually. We are promising to export so much energy that it will cause prices here to skyrocket. Basic supply and demand. If we keep our end of the deal of course. This guy is an oil and energy expert who did not vote for Joe Biden. Other experts are saying the same thing. Less than 10 minutes of your time.

Not worth my time till you can tell me who legitimately won the 2020 US Presidential Election. Until you’re prepared to answer that, don’t worry about asking me questions.

Coming from the guy who posted fake shit about Jerome Powell and can't even be man enough to own up to it....I'd say basically everything you say at this point should be thrown out as complete bullshit too.

Don't worry Racist Joey, I'm fully prepared for you to not take ownership and instead try to make me the problem like an insecure little bitch.

Well this is fun. Doing a bit of digging it seems like we have some bottlenecks in our infrastructure that will prove this challenging to meet. And while we are working to address this, stuff like this doesn't happen overnight...Who feels the pinch, folks paying energy bills in the US. I'm not totally surprised, much like the tariff game. The Donfather likes to talk big numbers and talk about big wins for America - but usually it is normal Americans who end up suffering as these things start to actually unfold.

That said, fuel is certainly cheaper in CA right now than it was last year (6L V8 van with a 30+ gallon tank here haha). Reading suggests its due to easing conflict between US/Iran and Iran/Israel. It is exhausting trying to keep up with everything these days, especially when everything is cranked up to 11 when presented.

And while I was originally dumbfounded by his 1000% cost reduction numbers on drug prices, and they are still grossly inflated, I do understand the underlying message...We do pay substantially more than other developed countries for the same thing. On average, drug prices are 2.78 times higher than 33 other high income countries (per HHS.gov). So it is good he is tackling this, however his bold claims mostly just trigger emotional responses from most people...Folks enraged that they think they pay way more than other countries (we do, just not nearly to the extent he's suggesting), and the other side is now enraged that he is not speaking to reality. What you get is a fun pissing match that takes place in a heightened emotional state vs one grounded in critical thinking and logic.

My take is neither the red or blue side of our Fed is really grounded in the reality everyday Americans live, and this is a problem.

While some of his motives may be good and well-meaning, his execution does not help in most cases. It further sews division and distrust, which gets us further from a well functioning Fed that is ultimately doing things in a realistic way that helps most Americans.

Through all the chaos I hope we end up in a better position, and things become more affordable. I'm all about making America Great Again, it needs to make actual sense too, though.

As far as prices and inflation go, I explained this in another thread. After which, MAGA scurried off, never replied, and just down voted me. Copied and pasted below.

I know you and many others here don’t really care about economic realities. But here you go.

In 2020, the Trump Administration cut a deal with OPEC to drastically cut oil production. This deal was agreed upon to be in place through April of 2022.

Article Here: https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=45236

Obviously as the economy opened back up in late 2020 and especially throughout the early part of 2021, with that OPEC deal still in place, with people ready to spend money and travel like they couldn’t do for months, inflation was sky high. That’s basic capitalism and economics. It starts falling right exactly when that OPEC deal ends and oil output increases.

Inflation Graph Here: https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/inflation-cpi

As we know, gasoline prices and inflation are basically going to go hand in hand. More expensive to ship stuff, the more expensive it’ll be for the consumer. They of course once again fall right when that OPEC deal that was signed and negotiated by Trump ends in April of 2022.

Gas Price Graph Here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/204133/retail-prices-of-motor-fuel-in-the-united-states-since-2009/

Inflation was going to absolutely suck for all of us for a good year and a half there no matter who was in office. On top of this deal, supply chains were extremely clogged and production of every product had to get back up to normal levels before inflation started to cool. By every single metric, under the Biden Administration, we handled inflation better than any other developed nation and our economy recovered quicker than any other developed nation.

It’s literally impossible for us to export that much energy. By most calculations, we’d need to be open 5 times as many oil rigs as we had going when we were at record oil output during the Biden Administration. So like I said. Basic supply and demand. Some energy experts expect our electric bill to be more then our mortgage in the near future. But he was gonna drop all the prices right!? 😂

Just to show the people who don’t understand economics and blame inflation on Biden the truth. What they do with it is up to them.

Bottom line:  nobody can forecast with any degree of certainty whether these trade & tariff plans will improve US manufacturing or lower debt. It’s uncharted territory and largely verbal agreements that can be rescinded at any time.

The lack of consistency & predictability creates an unstable environment for business decision makers.  The EU and SK announcements, if enacted, will take 1-2 years before the “real” long term impacts are known.  Until then, US consumers will foot the short term tariff bill while exporters search for new markets due to the overnight increase in the cost of their products.

No one should be jumping for joy or clutching their pearls.

Well, yeah, there’s that.  Restrictive trade policies were a spark to the collapse in 1929.  But they bear little resemblance to what’s been negotiated recently. Plus global markets are more reliant on the US than 100 years ago.

Global markets can change, and change quickly, global markets rely on trust, which the US is quickly eroding.

South Korea to invest $350B in US under new Trump trade agreement, tariff rate lowered to 15%
Deal also includes $100B purchase of American energy products

President Trump announced Wednesday that the U.S. and South Korea have reached a comprehensive trade agreement, in which the East Asian country will invest $350 billion in American projects selected by Trump.

South Korea, which has agreed to be "completely open" to trade with the U.S., will now face a reduced tariff of 15% on imported goods — down from the planned 25%, which would have gone into effect on Aug. 1, Trump said.

Ford is projecting a $2 billion bill because of the Trump administration's tariffs.

That's $500 million higher than what it forecast last quarter.

Ford's CEO said Trump's reduced tariffs on Japan would give its automakers a "meaningful" advantage.

Why would folks in Japan want US autos, they have some of the best, most reliable vehicles.

Stellantis also already has huge losses. Not just tarrifs, but the flip flop on EV policy also.

Ironically, DOGE didn't actually address any of our root cause fraud and abuse stuff, just fired regular Americans that work government jobs. Some of these jobs were created due to lobbying/fraud/abuse, but they aren't the root of our problem, nor do they bring the high cost of our problems.

Still hopeful America is Great Again at some point. The Donfather is just making it a bit harder.
