Its looking like I might be in Anaheim for a few days in August. Whats a good hotel to stay at if you have 2 kids 11 and 6. Also what's a good place to say come A1 because I might make the trip back again for it.
I usually stay at Sheraton Garden Grove - Anaheim South Hotel. Been there a few times and decent hotel, easy to get to and from stadium with Uber.
There is a great wolf lodge close by.
If you don’t wanna deal with driving at all, I would highly recommend the Ayres Hotel. You can walk to the stadium. Very nice hotel.
Embassy Suites Anaheim-Orange…walk to the stadium. Great 2 room suites for the whole family, good pool, on-site dining, Disney deals and shuttle…etc.

Second this always.
great spot!
It really depends on the kind of trip you're looking for whether you want the full family experience (and are okay paying for it) or a more laid-back beach vacation.
If you're going all-in on the family vibe, the Disneyland Hotel is a solid choice. You’re right in the middle of the action with Downtown Disney right there tons to do, and it's got that full Disney atmosphere. Great Wolf Lodge is another good option close by, especially if you’ve got younger kids. It’s packed with family-friendly features like indoor water slides, though it may or may not be your thing.
For a classic SoCal summer feel, look into Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, or Huntington Beach. These spots put you right on the water, offer a more relaxed vibe, and you’ll generally avoid the higher crime areas. Laguna Beach is also gorgeous more upscale and definitely pricey in August, but worth it if you’re looking to splurge a bit.
Just being honest Anaheim itself isn’t great outside of the Disney bubble. A lot of the surrounding areas are run-down or just not ideal for vacationing. That’s just the reality now thanks, Newsom.
As for the race, like others mentioned, stay near the event hotels if that’s part of your plan.
Hope that helps!
Besides the hotel being decent and close to the event I hated being there. Last year I did find a fun town for drinks and entertainment not too far away that was a blast though. Live music and late night fun if you are looking for that.
We usually stay at Anaheim Hilton. It’s walking distance to Disney and is a pretty nice place. The family loves it every time we stay there.
