Roger is to Moto what Arnold Palmer is to Golf!
However that ship has sailed, & believe you me there's KEY OTHERS!!!
Again, he's a part of it yes, but not THE PART!!!!!
There's more than 1 pilot flyin the plane, get it!

That's my entire point. The one thing that some of you keep neglecting to acknowledge is that (as I have said over and over) he's a very good team manager. With that said, he's not the reason that RC, Reed or Dungey won championships. He played a part in those championships, but the reality is, that they would have won those championships under another team manager. And on the years that he didn't have the right talent, he came up dry. The reality is, it's the riders that win the titles, with some help and guidance from the team manager, and the rest of those involved in the team.
As far as his batting average, he's been a team manager since 1981. That's 29 years as a team manager. How many championships has he produced in those 29 years?
How many has Mitch produced?
How many has Larry Brooks produced, and some of you internet experts think that he is clueless.
You do the math, and take into account how established RC and CR were before they parked their bikes under Rogers tent.
You may not like what I have to say, but that doesn't mean that what I have to say is wrong or incorrect. It just means that it doesn't suit what you believe to be reality.
Things like this is what drives me nuts. Roger had noting to do with Suzuki's amateur program, but here you are, taking the credit from others and giving it to Roger.

Great, good, silly, lame, stupid.....whatever, you/we be the judge, right.
I like to try & inform, but most are just opinions at the end of the day anyways......
Regardless of ones experience or experiences on here, even if your an insider it's always open to the ups & downs of it all.
But, for sure, Roger, the Man the Myth, deserves our undivided respect.
Sure he's helped this sport here-n-there plenty over his many storied yrs.
For as many highs, he's had plenty of lows, shoot we all have, as we're only human.
But, this team, any many before it as well have had many great people involved.
Many involved even at the level of say Roger.
This I know to be true.
This I know to be fact.
Do we say owe him a note of thanks, sure we do.
So "Thank you Roger"........but "Thank you to Mitch Payton too".........
For many of our Victories he's been right in there.
& before Mitch, others too...........
Again, there's more than 1 pilot here since day 1!
There's no I in TEAM, & certainly not here either.

Roger has 36 national titles as a manager, not counting regional 125/250F sx. Mitch has 10 titles, although his winning percentage is probably quite a bit higher because he just runs one class. There were a few years that Honda was taking 3 titles a year so those Honda years were successful for DeCoster and offsets some dry years at Suzuki. Mitch built his race program from scratch, which is amazing, and roger won five 500 world championships as a racer. They are both moto legends.
I don't know who bigborefan is, but I don't believe he is from Beverly Hills. I also believe that there is a little sarcasm in his post.
I was more interested in Canard pulling a rocky pose with the flag wrapped around him.
Pit Row
Same for Mitch's team with a Townley and a Langston. Or even and uber talented young hotshot.
Someone in charge. Really in charge. Has to look in the riders face when shit get's tough and tell them with the conviction that the rider believes in....go back the fuck out there and get shit done. The bike is perfect the suspension is perfect and you are faster.
Do you think that is happening at team J Law?
And for as big a douchebag as Larry B may or may not be, his riders also go to the line knowing that Larry did everything he could to help them, even if it means making up stories on the internet to protect them.
Even the best of the best riders need a strong and solid manager.
In a sport or upsets and unpredictability, managers are important at the top level.
I saw it too on the stream and laughed.
