Oh never. He's pretty quick in the NATIONALS though!
Thats so retarded to say that, get your head out of your ass dungey beat him straight up both motos... even desalle beat him in the second moto. and I recall some people saying desalle isn't even in the same league as AC...

Roczen was awesome - to me, he was the story of the day. Team USA rocked the world, just like they usually do, and they did it the hard way, by overcoming tough situations.

Dungey and Cairoli are pretty equal- even in Dungey's home country..as the first race showed... as did the lap times... I even said Dungey would win in his home country he is the champ of the USA..but a GP series.. different story. It all comes down to starts and the track when you are that level...

Both areequally great riders... Cairoli proved he is as good to the Americans and Dungey won like he should at home in a nations race.

Well done USA they deserved the victory in the team race.

Well done to the class winners too..

ARE YOU FOR REAL MAN???? Every single GP guy, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! that comes to America says the same thing they said after MXoN 07.

They reference the "wide open first few laps" of the american nationals. It is pretty known that the GP motos are a little longer, so the guys pace themselves a bit from the start.

Mr. Mccread, you are a reasonable being, I have read planty of your posts, how in the hell are you going to say something like what is quoted above?? In AMERICA the starts sure mean alot more than in a GP.

I get that our country has 300 million people, so of course we are going to have more fast racers than the much smaller nations we compete against at the MXoN. But for the love of moses man, our nationals are every bit as deep ( pry deeper) than the GP's. How you gonna say "at that level"???

Look at what the AMA guys did today.........................

As far as fastest man in the world, I dont know who that is, but it aint that raviolli eating dude, cuz he just got powned by a guy that I am not convinced is the fastest guy in our crappy B- Class AMA Nationals.

Think about what you say dude.

SX is techinally not the same sport, so while I see where you're coming from, I was purely approaching this from an MX angle. I could also make the argument that Tony's deep sand skills are far superior.

But Dungey hasn't seen deep sand anymore than Cairoli's seen AMA style SX.

Has Dungey smoked the world 20 times?

This thread and my argument aren't about which is the strongest individual MXDN country.

I haven't chimed in on the US. VS the world thing, though I've been following it since my Dad said we should buy T-shirts back in 80 to help send the US team over to race. But the number of times and the variety of tracks we have won on should tell everyone,no matter what country they favor, who is most dominant.

And anyone who follows the sport that can put their emotions aside, should be able to see that Dungey is a better, smoother, faster, stronger, more fit, more stable rider than Cairoli. If Dungey had been beat as many times by AC I'd gladly give him props. And I do respect AC for his speed and tenacity. Outdoors he is probably only behind RD,JS and RV. Not bad!

And most American fans would tell our riders and fans alike to shut our own trap if we got beat and started making excuses. Win like a man, lose like a man. These other countries continue to be blind and make excuses before, during and after the beating we constantly dish out. I love when foreign riders come here and hang it out. I cheer for them when they do well and have become a fan of many of them. But all those who just can't see the truth? Well, start the excuses for next year! Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

yeah, its pretty pathetic to still hear excuses from the euro's. Get over it. You know it was most likely going to happen anyway. There is no way that you guys were blindsided with what happened today.

Great so explain to me why? Rather than just post some pic.

And do it quick because it's God knows what hour it is over here and I'm tired. I'll pick this up tomorrow if any responses are waiting.

Albertson summed it up pretty well, its real different in the US, bring RD over to AC's playground Lommel and AC wins 100%, but bring AC to the US and its RD 100%!
I agree with this, 100%!

AC was charging hard in that first moto, if he could have cleared that quad from the inside he would have been in the lead at least once during that race, not sure if he would have held the lead or not but he definitely was on pace with Dungey, no doubt about it.....both great riders, am a fan of both thats for sure

No one, or rather no one serious could really ever make the argument that America isn't the strongest individual MX nation, HOWEVER that has zero, zip, narda to do with which "series" is the best. And by best I mean in terms of speed and depth.

The MXDN isn't a good indicator of which series is the best because no other country can field 3 really good riders. They're all too small. It's a limitation of the event and something that GP followers understand and accept. However regardless of all that the MXDN is still immensely interesting.

As for the best rider, as I said it is another argument and is debatable. Everyone agreed RC was the fastest because he came over here and left zero doubt. Even when Stewart fluffed a moto in 2008 the vast majority of people would have agreed that he was clearly, at the time, the world's fastest rider.

As for that last comment about most American fans, PLEASE! Every side makes laughable claims and excuses.

I was there today and Dungey was the fastest guy in the world, no ifs ands or buts.

Now if you want to talk about home field advantage - that honor goes to Shorty. He beat Cairoli in the last moto. I had so much freaking fun and it was worth every penny.

Argue incessantly before the race about who's 'best'

Have the race and post the results in stone.

Argue incessantly after the race is over about who's 'best'.

Funny...Dungey lives and trains in the sand, and some of his best performances have been on sand tracks. Just because we don't have a sand track in the national circuit anymore as rough as lommel doesn't mean we don't have them here in the states.

That arguement is just as silly as believing GP guys couldn't win on a track big jumps b\c they used to not have jumps as big as in the US nationals.

Sorry you have to listen to the idiots on here for another year, but AC deserves a lot of credit for riding with as good as he did with asthma, a (possibly) underpowered bike in the high elevations like that, and without the benefit of the team already having race settings.

Here is the real question to me, because everyone knows that AC is one of the best even though he did not beat Dungey. However, that being said how many in here think AC could come over to the US and run a full supercross & outdoor season and have the results Dungey did as a rookie?

I say no way, it wouldn't happen, not even close to as good as Dungey was throughout the entire year in both seasons. My personal opinion is AC would be lucky to even be in contention for a title in either series. I don't think he has the endurance & i'm still not sold on the 350 being able to stay with the 450's
