Unfortunately, I haven't been to national in many years since Muddy Creek was removed from the schedule but I don't recall anyone constantly blowing an airhorn nonstop for all 4 motos. At every round so far there has been the same horn sound on the broadcast. Do we have a dedicated horn team that follows the races? Do they hand the horns out at the gate? Do people actually think they need to pack a case of horns along with their beer cooler?
The sound is so consistent that it makes me think its added into the broadcast. Has anyone that has been to a live national recently recall this many horns in person?
Welcome to the new pollution….horns, chainsaws, bad music and Bud Lite fill the air….enjoy
Those air horns gotta go, especially during the interviews. I would actually like to hear what the riders have to say, not hear some asshole blow an air horn non stop.
Evee since the last des nations at red bud when the mxgp crowd came across the pond the horns and chainsaws have been showing up more. We had a chain saw guy in our section at southwick.
You know what they say..... If it's too loud, you're too old.

There was a booth selling them at Mammoth last year.
When they say the riders name for 2,nd & 3rd those horns are exactly alike. 450 winner gets .8 seconds or more horn. 250 winner got the most horn time . Because it’s probably paid for to create this is the most popular rider. Yeah that’s all we needed is to hv a Horn conspiracy. Haha
I bet that was awesome to listen to for 2 and a half hours..
Well, I was thinking about trying to do the Des Nations this year, thinking about how irritable I’m getting, maybe I shouldn’t.
I was ready to strangle anyone with an air horn by the time the day was over.
It may be worth making an exception for Des Nations though. ha! Hopefully you get to go!
The airhorns are annoying but the chainsaws are absolutely obnoxious. Always wielded by a group of shirtless hillbillies that are just there to drink beer and be annoying as fuck.
Hell yeah man! Nothing I love more when trying to watch a race then some dumb fuck firing up a 2 stroke chainsaw and blowing my eardrums out at 115 db right behind me every lap.
I'm heading to Redbud this week and totally forgot about the damn horns and chainsaws. My wife will go scorched earth on these unruly drunk kids if they decide to do it near us. 🤣
What could possibly be considered a positive of allowing them?
Oh yeah, somebody will pay mxsports for the right to set up to sell them even though i would bet the majority of their customers would prefer they did not exist.
That's great, we're going to sit by you guys then lol. I wish they'd at least ban the chainsaws. Kinda surprised they haven't been
Both the airhorns and chainsaws are downright musical compared to that jackass with the train horn at Hangtown last year. Fuck that guy, I hope he was banned from all outdoor events.
Post a reply to: Is the horn honking added to the broadcast?
