Beautiful bike…2 strokes are awesome!
What color powerband did it come with?
If you gave me the choice between a KTM and an equivalent TM model, I'm picking the TM every time. Especially now with KTM's pricing being not that far off of TM. Hopefully their new NA distribution really pushes them forward.
Man, I would love to make that happen, but that dream all but died about 10 years ago, ironically, when the new US importer, Cam, sent his new 144 motor from Canada for the treatment. After the middleman machinist went mia for a few weeks with the crank, I decided the arrangement wasn't going to work.
Dang how much 😂

MXA did a test on the 25 125 . The carb model it sounds real good it pulls longer on top than a 25 Husky.
Nice. I always wondered what their celing is. Ive always thought they were trick and seriously thought about getting a supermini too for my son but just never did. Man what a cool bike and congrats to you and your son!
Sick mini! How is your kid liking it after a few more rides?
Nice!
There was 2 TM 125,s at Xmas ,Mi. Sand track . 1 was blue & white it looked real clean . It sounded good & went threw the endless sand bumps ,Very straight . A lot better than my bike my suspension is wayy too soft in the front. There was 65 125 mod bikes there it blended in . And sounded good mid to top . A young girl had a pink one she ripped .
He really likes it. We've spent the last few weeks setting it up for him, as he'd been on Austrian 85s for the last few years. Now that we have spring rates and gearing dialed in, he's riding as well as he ever has.
Sweet! Is the bottom as good as the Austrians?
I know the TM125 is mostly mid/top.
Are you still modding engines these days?
In stock form, it had almost too much bottom and was lacking up top. It took a few rides to realize it was geared pretty low and after a few sprocket changes he's happy with the top, shifting less and still pulling out of tight corners strong.
I still tinker with motors from time to time and will get a look at the internals this week because it's at 20hrs now and I was planning to re-ring it tomorrow and measure everything.
I’m loving this thread…knowing you’re having fun 2 ways…
Watching him learn -AND- seeing him having fun doing it.
Getting to develop a new and “different” bike.
Very stoked for you.
Sounds Great doing a good job dialing it in. Most people don’t think about dropping a tooth. I was going to but I,m sticking with stock gearing , they all say it’s too tall. I like the quickness my bike has. Only 1 practice after vet then 125 was on the gate. I,m gussling water my pal walks up & says 125 is on the gate. I said fill it up while I got my helmet on. I raced to the start they had the rpm’s high. Not a sec to do holeshot device or prep gate . I,m lookin for a board guy there is none . Everyone s rpm’s went wo & held it . So I put it 1st jump get a jump not a sec to concentrate . Start goes rt then a few ft into a tight left 8-9 ft wide . I was 14-15th a lot of bumping but clean . Threw mid I,m competitive but on top I give up a lot . A riders dad said there Linx engine was 43. A local tuner got more out a cylinder sounds like they use both depending on the track . Stock TM is what 38.7 that’s Great but 23 of 25 hv mod engines. I woukd race it stock a little. In a race he,ll figure out real quick what he needs more of. Rt of the box was the best gates & it shorter to the 1st turn. I was far left I pulled everyone near me hyper shifting . I didn’t get the best of the mid either on the start . I shifted early . Reliability on the hvy mod bikes isn’t so good tho.
