yes, not many spectators, most probably due to the brits dont have any dogs in the fight (btw, what happened to watson) .

its also a poor showing on the gate , mind you theres fair few injured, but even so

ill be there, weather looks decent and look forward ro see some decent racing , actually looking forward to the 125s to see how they ripp

Watson crashed on the first lap and rode back to the pits with a sore knee.

I thought alcohol wasn't allowed to be served either......mxgp needs to take a good look at itself and not  just think about the money but also about the sport if this continues 15 men at the starting gate is the new normal....thing they need to change right away is the age limit in mx2 how much better would that class be wirhout it?????? Mxgp always wants to compare itself with motogp the age limit in moto3 is 28...........

Watching the races yesterday and I was amazed at the lack of spectators, maybe they wanted to go to the beach, they’re on a summer holiday or it could be due to fact of the high ticket prices to enter and extortionate prices for accommodation in the area? I last went in 2020 and if I remember rightly there was a decent turn out but it was the coldest I’ve ever experienced. Before that I went in 15/16 and it was packed. Taking 3 hours to get out after a long day is not fun no matter how good the racing was.

Regarding the lack on entries really saddens me, 37 riders in EMX250 is bad, when I’ve been in the past at least 80 riders in the EMX classes were trying to qualify. For such a favourite track for the riders, it surprises me that more didn’t turn up.

The age limit in MX2 should be raised to 25 in my opinion and the EMX250 class stays at 23, that way riders like Orial Oliver who are just coming into their stride in the GP’s, have a chance of getting a decent ride in the MXGP class rather than going to the AMA because they are forced to.

I really don’t know the answers but things have got to change.

if the age limit is 23 and none in mx2 that would be ideal...what is better jago geerts in the mx2 or in de mxgp......haarup in the mx2 or in the usa......?....oriol   elzinga and benistant   next year are to old an not much talent in the emx .....that doesn't seem good for the mx2 i think......

I personally feel that MXGP needs to run its whole series in Europe. These far away places like South America kill it for the smaller teams.

Having the series in Europe the smaller teams would be able to compete in the whole series and their sponsorship deals will potentially grow with better placing.

More riders in the EMX 250 series need to move up to MX2 quicker thus filling the gates. MX1 will then see more gates filled.

The EMX series gates are always full because the series is Europe only...go figure.

This will never be motogp or F1. Trying to run the series all over the world kills it for everyone except the big factory teams.

That's damn silly.

The fat pig running the series is the real problem, he is selling the events to whoever comes up with the millions hosting fee.

So often the gates are half empty and there are riders (gate fillers) who are borderline rank amateurs that have no business competing in a World Championship.

FFS, it's Matterly Basin and they only have like 25 riders in MX1....the series has a serious problem.

A lot of people didn’t go because of how expensive it is! The other rounds in Europe are a lot cheaper

The fat pig still has to be appointed by FIM, also don’t not feel it’s the factories that push for the fly aways.

Would you be prepared to reduce factory support for a euro series?

Nowadays, with all added costs of 4 strokes, how much prize money is it going to take fund a decent privateer up against factory riders travelling internationally ?

Wildcard local entries would help somewhat, but they won’t be competitive longer term.

Why do you think the factories will reduce support if the MXGP series was only hosted in the many countries of Europe?

I think quite the opposite, the factories would save money from.nit having to fly across oceans. That money can be put back into the their smaller sister teams and riders.

Because ultimately pro riders are marketing tools.

Places like Indonesia etc are seen as big bike markets, not mx specific but for brand exposure doesn’t matter. More money in mopeds then mx.

I expect your find factories have a big influence on the fly aways .

I was there yesterday. I preferred seeing the track without deep ruts everywhere. Not sure some riders would agree though...

Also, there seemed to be a serious lack of speakers, so it was near impossible to hear what the commentators were saying.

And security is still non-existent. Like it was at the nations.

Exactly

I think the problem is some event organisers see the silly ticket prices for things like Silverstone F1 or Glastonbury festival, and think that they can get the same for their event.

Some events people will pay any amount to be there , but for other events people are more price sensitive and high ticket prices backfire on the organisers.

ISunday only is £80, which put off everyone I spoke to about going to this.

80 pounds is madness.

He has been in the class for a few years, actually did quite decent when he was at WZ racing last season. Not sure how good that bike is

This year started great, but a personal sponsor didn’t pay the team he was on (apparently) and he missed a GP before Gabriel SS24 KTM picked him up. Now he has factory supported bike
